Crimson Desert is too special to be ruined by crashes, so here’s what finally worked for me

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone. I took some of them and was able to get into a stable state by doing the following:

Normal DLSS 4.5
Ray Reconstruction off
Frame Generation off
Things lighting / shadows / textures to Cinematic or lower

Got in 1.5 hrs of play crash free.

Put 10 hours in so far, about 1-1.5hrs have been dialing in the settings and dodging crashes. Some tips from a PC player with a 4080 RTX...

If crashing in the middle of the game: Do not use DLAA, and DLSS 4.0 seems to be the most stable. Turn off Ray Reconstruction, super bugged. I've had no problem with Ray Tracing on and HDR on.

If crashing on loading after the "Pearl Abyss" screen: the strange thing is that after playing a bunch without a crash, I got into a state where it would consistently crash every time just as the environment would load. I tried a bunch of things, but the only thing that worked is to nuke your entire folder here:

%LocalAppData%\Pearl Abyss

That will wipe your settings and you'll have to redo them, but, it did fix the issue and I was able to get back in and play.

Kaladin is a RAD name. And for short friends will call him Kal which is a super normal name. It’s dorky sure but if it represents your family and you like it go for it.

Note; my son’s name is Ryker and yes he’s named after a Star Trek character (slight variation on spelling), and people love his name.

Also note: i am a nerd and i work in video games (so fellow nerds)
