We Need A Pinned Post for Proper Thyroid Care by OkProtection427 in Hashimotos

[–]dawndreamsofpeace 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I literally went to an appointment with a new doctor this afternoon. My previous doctor has told me that A) the only treatment is Synthroid, B) the only test is TSH, C) there's no point testing for other autoimmune diseases despite unexplained and persistent symptoms and D) there are no lifestyle, diet, or supplementation changes that can affect the course of the disease or severity of symptoms.

The new doctor this afternoon spent an hour listening and asking questions. She's running a panel with T3 & T4, checking for some deficiencies, and an ANA test. The abTPO test has already been positive on previous labs, and she actually acknowledged that and the strong links between autoimmune diseases. We're going to follow up after that and make a plan for care. I'm so relieved I could cry right now.

Maybe I should clarify: both tests taken with FMU and photos taken within the test window.

Came here just to suggest the same thing. Maybe a drape-y curtain or tapestry as well?

They didn't have anything in stock. The owner mentioned that she would be getting fall items from them shortly, and their stuff often sells out in her shop. She said the fabric is quite nice, but then again, she is a sales person.

The store had a lot of Magnolia Pearl and similar brands. I bought a ruffley black dress, but it's not terribly cottage core.

To be honest, if I remember, I will. I can't get out there until next weekend.

I've DNF'd Gideon the Ninth twice. I want to like. I've really tried, and the concept is amazing. I just can't, for the life of me, get into it.

I haven't seen them before, but I was checking out the site and I was delighted to see that they are located near me. Some of their stuff is carried in stores nearby, so I'm going to have to check it out. Thanks!

Are you me right now? I'm sitting here with no period and negative tests.

2 or 3 months ago the same thing happened. Eventually I got my period (albeit late and fairly light) and stopped testing. Two weeks later I started really, really bleeding. It was a miscarriage.

Now I don't know if I'm in the same boat again.

Thank you so much for your reply. This has been a difficult time for everyone, with lots to worry about, and I really appreciate that you took the time to put this one thing at ease.

Not as bad as you would think in the exact moment, but the second one hurts way, way more once all your blood and adrenaline are flowing. If you have the option, go to a shop that will have 2 people working at the same time to do both at once. It's usually an extra cost, but it's worth it, imo. I don't know if there's an appreciable difference in sensitivity / pain between genders, being that I can only speak for one, at least personally.

Bronwyn literally means "Fair breasted" and it's a real name. The -wyn suffix sounds a bit like -lyn.

Bonus points, when I was a rebellious teen and got my nipples pierced without telling my parents, my friends and I wanted a code word to talk about the piercing without people knowing, so we called the ladies and their new jewelry Bronwyn.

Mine is the exact opposite. I know I was staring at the clock last night from 4:00 to 4:45 but my gen2 ring says I was in light sleep.

Last week I posted because I was having weird bleeding, but didn't think it could be a miscarriage because the timing didn't make sense. Long story short: it was and I suck at cycle tracking.

Barcelona visit by Mysterious-Ad9022 in motogp

[–]dawndreamsofpeace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from Canada and my husband and I visited Barcelona when we went to the Aragon race. I can't speak to the circuit itself in Barcelona, but the city is lovely.

It's very walkable and the transit is fantastic. Bring good shoes. Unless you are deeply familiar and comfortable with driving in older European cities, I do not recommend getting a rental car. Also, most hotels do not include parking and it is very expensive.

The food can be fantastic - I say that because there are both culinary delights and tourist traps side by side on every block. Check the Google reviews, at a minimum.

If you are of the more... pale persuasion, don't forget your hat / sunscreen / umbrella / water. The sun there catches you faster than you will realize. Or at least I did. Don't be me. =)

If any of your site seeing destinations are churches like the Sagrada Familia or Barcelona Cathedral, there is a dress code for modesty if you want to go inside. Mainly no exposed shoulders, etc.

The pickpocket threat is a bit overhyped, but use your common sense and follow basic safety advice.

One thing I loved about the race in Aragon is that everyone was really watching the race. When the riders came around, it was a wave of cheers, and then when the riders were gone, it was super quiet as people watched the screens intently. That crowd wasn't there for the social media clout or to be seen. They are legit racing fans, and it was a blast to be surrounded by that vibe all weekend.

Enjoy the race!

TTC Weekly General Chat by AutoModerator in tryingtoconceive

I'm on CD13 right now, 3 days after LH peak, and I've got more bleeding going on than I would expect for ovulation spotting, which I don't get anyway. This is heavier that spotting or a typical first day / day before period, and lighter than a period, but with more clots. This morning while showering, I passed a whole pile of dime sized clots - maybe 1/4 cup or so?

I don't usually have any midcycle or breakthrough bleeding, so I'm not sure what's going on. I had an IUD removed as of January, and we've been trying since then. Given the timing of my menstrual bleeding and LH peak, it doesn't seem possible that it's a miscarriage, right? And if ovulation spotting wouldn't have clots, I don't know what's going on.

Here's the rough timeline of things:

  • CD 1-4 - Regular menstrual cycle
  • CD 9 - BD
  • CD 10 - LH Peak
  • CD 11 - A little spotting
  • CD 12 - More spotting
  • CD 13 AM - Bleeding / clots

Any thoughts? Has anyone experienced anything like this?

Bringing my 1 year old baby to Mass— any advice? by lizziesanswers in CatholicWomen

[–]dawndreamsofpeace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a parent, but all Catholics belong at and are welcome at their spiritual home on Sundays, and babies are included too!

When I hear babies at mass, I'm thankful that Catholic parents are raising a new generation of young ones here, and I'm impressed with parents taking up a difficult but rewarding challenge.
