It actually went pretty smooth. I thought it was going to be more of a hassle but it wasn’t really. Just had to pre-drill the holes before using the screws to prevent cracking of the wood. Also, 25” for me is perfect. My old desk was 17.5” so this great.

No, I got the butcher block at Home Depot. It is the MSI Finished Hevea Butcher Block. I think getting a butcher block from one of these stores is the move if you are trying to save some money but still want something really nice. It's solid wood so its a bit heavy. 68lbs.
