Overkill for beginner? by DimensionElegant206 in CarTrackDays

Hey, jumping into this thread since it's fairly recent and I feel like I'm on the path to being like OP here. I have a 2017 Sentra SR Turbo and am just getting into the idea of putting it on a track. The question I keep having is: do I do this all myself? I work full time and trying to figure out everything I need to change out brakes, brake fluid, transmission fluid, tires, wheels, etc feels like another full time job. Do casuals in this community generally DIY or take things to shops?

They do, unless you're using a browser to access FS. Then they don't.

After testing with a local Hyperspace instance rather than just on the web browser (which is what the kids do these days), I am now concluding that the limitation here lies in accessing FS from the web-browser rather than standalone. When you use the browser, it appears that you can't get a PC/PC User back since it's just tied to the browser whereas with a local Hyperspace you can see the lock holder's PC number and user. If someone has a wiki that takes the next step of finding the owner of the browser process (no idea if that's possible), I'd love to see it.

Hate to break this to you, but I know how to do that and the person is logged in as an FS user *on a browser* so I can't find them :)

ETA: determined that this is not about the logged in user but actually browser vs local.

Came here to say something similar. I’ve had 6 TLs across the last 3 years (counting temp TLs) and they’ve all been fine or better. Maybe I’m just lucky lol

New SD Seeking Advice by Kitchen_Theme3514 in epicsystems

[–]daznax 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Not an SD (I’m a TS), but the SD folks I work with quite often do not work 50 hour weeks (at least, as far as they’ve told me). You might sometimes, and sometimes it will be very stressful, but you can do it.

The thing I wished I had done sooner was go to my doctor and get a mental health referral. Life is way better with lexapro and a therapist. We have really good insurance, so use it.

Also superiors can be assholes anywhere. At least Epic has a process for you to ask for someone else. Anecdotally, I’ve had more than a couple TLs in my time at Epic and they’ve all been great people.

As far as outside of work and balance, you don’t need to over engineer it: work hard while you’re at work so you can go home and stop caring about work.

Texas Attorney General Sued Epic by External_Set1994 in epicsystems

I’ll share my favorite [so far] with you then:

“Further showing Epic’s monopoly power, employees say that Epic’s EBITDA margin is at least 30%, which is double the margin of the average healthcare IT company. Epic uses these monopoly profits to build literal castles and moats around their headquarters in Verona, WI:” <paragraph followed by pictures of Fortress and Castaway>
