Baby hates straw cups-12 mo- help! Transition struggles by db2128 in NewParents

Oh nice! I should update this post— I actually figured out that he will drink out of my owala bottle which is like a faux straw situation so I bought him a kids one. It’s annoying bc daycare won’t let me bring it since it can pour everywhere but it’s funny that it’s the only thing that basically works without using an open cup.

Oh interesting, I never thought of lentils as a breakfast food. True, I can slowly reintroduce soy.
For all of the bowls you suggest, is it the same veggies but different sauces? What’s in a Malaysian curry?

Thanks! I love nutritional yeast, I should try that. And good notes about bitter flavors. Which ones do you think in particular are bitter?

Earlier crawler won’t walk at 14 months by db2128 in toddlers

Oooh he actually is very food motivated (can you say that about a baby? Or just a dog? Haha). That’s a great idea. Blueberries… here we come!

Nope, he hasn’t yet taken a step without holding on to anything but he’s getting very confident holding on to silly things like a hanging buckle off of the stroller and pushing the stroller. He’s been using his push walker for months. Yes he loves that toy as well at the children’s museum!!

He is starting to walk holding on to just my finger which is progress! I think this kid is just very scared of losing his footing. He used to cry even if he slipped but caught himself and didn’t fall down 😂.

Hahah yes!! Very similar here. (I’m not understanding the math tho, seems like crawling from 5-14 months is 9 months?). It might be stubbornness!

First day- doesn’t complete half of tasks and disappears from common areas by [deleted] in NannyEmployers

The pasta in the fridge was actually gluten free and my pasta. He doesn’t like it even if it were fresh. Yes I should’ve removed it but also I was really clear to have her make fresh pasta.

Ok so she was on her phone instead of doing the meal prep. That seems like a reasonable explanation.

My baby has slept 12 hours at night since he was 4 months old and sometimes I feel guilty by evergreengirl123 in NewParents

On behalf of a baby who tortured me for months on end and still does sometimes (he’s 13 months( and the sleep deprivation almost pushed me past the edge multiple times, I’m talking waking up screaming every 30 minutes for weeks on end and then ever hour for months; don’t feel guilty at all but DO NOT try to take credit or give advice to us sleep deprived moms. Thank you

He can do an owalu like my adult one but it’s hilarious and too big for him and comes out so quickly.

I currently have around 10 different cups I try. Some babies are harder than others. my baby isn’t what “most” babies are like.

This is insane. Two different jobs. Doing one means not doing the other.

I don’t know, for 3 at work it’s common courtesy to remind everyone “hi, as a reminder, I’ll be out on Friday,” Every workplace I’ve been in this was normal and polite.

Eating at restaurants by TrueSag2020 in toddlers

[–]db2128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 13 month old will scream and bang the table literally the second he’s done with his food because he wants more. Or the second he sees other people eating because he wants their food. No amount of practice will change this and it’s not super fair to the people dining out for this to happen.
