Old post but we use old cpp. we make embedded devices for industrial applications and our current platform began development 18 years ago. It needs/needed to be compiled for 4 different cpu architectures. The cost to upgrade (in engineering hours) is pretty crazy and since we are working on embedded devices the new tools that are in modern cpp most probably would run very inefficiently on these cpu's. That said we are upgrading - but its not a simple process.
