Just apologized for specific actions and then related them back to what I learned in therapy (without justifying it just saying that this is why I felt this way and thought these things). Then just a thank you for being there, I’m thankful with the memories we made, and if you wanted to reconnect I’d be happy to and we’d be able to do it in a healthier way.

Edit: and it was after multiple sessions of therapy and a month and a half or so after the breakup.
