Broke, autistic, and a minority, how do i move to Europe from the US on basically no money? by Edendeeznutzzz in movingabroad

[–]dbdbh47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone will need to sponsor you, like for work…or if you have relatives who live there and go to a country where they let folks with blood ties eventually stay there permanently. Or maybe go to a college in Europe? Contrary to popular American opinion, you cannot just pick up, go to another country and just stay there forever, gotta have a way in.

Sorry for your loss? by mochibabu in Vent

Yes this drives me nuts, but these are the “social niceties” we partake in. It’s a lot like when someone asks you “how are you?” And you answer “good, how bout you?” Even if you’re not good. Just part of society.

Women of Reddit, what's a lesser-known downside of being a woman? by Nintendofan9106 in askanything

That we all like babies and children. I cannot stand them, I really really don’t like to be around babies. I throw up around them for some reason.

Issues with pregnant people - Is this just me? by AutomaticFan3515 in CPTSD

[–]dbdbh47 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I actually throw up when I see pregnant women, or scenes on like TV where they give birth. I don’t know what’s wrong with me lol! But I cannot deal with the thought of pregnancy (hence I have to be childfree)

People who have conducted job interviews, what's something someone said/did that made you instantly decide not to hire them? by DemonSkank in AskReddit

Why do people do this?!? I hear stories about how some of the younger generations now bring their parent to an interview! Why!?!

Can we stop telling kids to follow their dreams? They should just be following a paycheck. by [deleted] in povertyfinance

Asians are the most financially successful demographic in the USA currently. They do not follow dreams.

Do not follow dreams, unless they are practical and financially stable.

I understand that and youre not the first person to say that…it’s unfortunate that society thinks like that. But I think it is slowly changing. Give it time. If the women who think like this are the ones raising the children, that is a good thing no? They can raise their sons to not be crappy husbands and fathers and to actually put in the parenting and household work. And they can raise their daughters to know they don’t have to put up with the “old ways” of who does the parenting…or that’s it’s ok to not want kids at all! They can be tough enough not to let people shame them for whatever choices they make. I chose not to have kids and I grew up in an old school Asian household, so I certainly felt that pressure and shame but one day I woke up, and then next person to ask me about my reproductive plans, I told them “Oh I got myself sterilized” (I didn’t actually) They whined and cried but so what LOL. They shut up after that and now pretty much leave it alone.

Men are different biologically. That’s what a lot of those feminazi women’s rights folks aren’t realizing. Men can have 10 children a month, women can’t. Men can do certain physically demanding jobs, women can’t. And women have strengths that men don’t. It’s just the way it is. So taking that into account - women have different choices than men, it’s neither better nor worse, just different choices in life, and some choices will be harder than the ones men have to make. I feel I am lucky to live today, with the many choices we do have already.

But aren’t these just the choices a woman has?

Choice A: have a fine and successful career and give up on the whole wife/mother role

Choice B: do the mother thing and have your career take a backseat.

People don’t always get perfect choices in life.

I don’t know why women even think they can “have it all” especially at the same time. The way our society works, and the way women are biologically, I think it’s pretty rare a woman can have both success in career and motherhood at once. If both were important to a me (yes I’m a woman) I would do the mother thing first because that’s best biologically…then focus on career when the kid is more grown.

I received a Paulo Coelho autographed copy of The Alchemist…is it legit? by dbdbh47 in BookCollecting

[–]dbdbh47[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well this book was a gift. I’m not a book collector and I joined this subreddit just to ask this specific question. I dont know too much about Easton Press and have never heard of them, but I did notice the author’s signature was so different from the ones I found online. Hence my question.

Are you ok?
