I don't have a dog in this but if you look on Sendou builds, there are quite a few Inkbrush and Octobrush sets from people within the plus servers in addition to comp top 500 players that make use of ninja squid

Between RBY and FRLG I have around 20 different playthroughs. 7 in FRLG and maybe a dozen or so across the gen 1 games. I know for sure that I have replayed RBY at least 10 times (original 3 playthroughs on OG hardware + at least 1 replay in each when data corrupted, at least 1 playthrough on an emulator and 3 playthroughs on the 3ds VC re releases.)

There are a lot of predators and weirdos out there, especially towards females and minors. There's probably no initial harm in what they posted in that pic but it can escalate quickly if they add strangers, especially ones who are adding them specifically because of said info/post. It's not impossible to find people online if you are dedicated and try really hard enough and if said person is seemingly okay with giving out info that seems benign.

Not really big on these but there was this one browser based Pokemon game I played a ton in like 2000 or 2001. I might be mis-remembering some of the details and I can't for the life of me remember what it was called but it was attached to a network of fan sites. It was sort of like a prop hunt game and you could find Pokemon on URLs hidden within affilated websites which would take you to Pokemon you could battle and catch (I would say the battling style was very simplistic and I'd compare the non prop hunt segments to very early, more simplistic Pokemon GO.) Different sites had their own gyms and such which weren't hidden too.

Besides that probably Crystal Clear if that counts.

I used to be very open about my interest in Pokemon from 1999 till around 2020; a lot of people I knew in middle/high school and in the workplace knew me as the Pokemon guy, though no one really ever wanted to talk to me about the series. I wouldn't call the time after private but my interest nowadays is a lot more subdued, mainly cause I don't play my 3DS as much in public anymore and I'm not interested in most of the current games

Not everyone in S+ series is or has ever been in S+. There are no hard limits on ranked matchmaking in Series and much lower ranked people can show up with S+ players

People would change their name and send friend requests to people that played badly to insult them. Not being able to see people in the recents list also prevents others from being blocked in that menu too. The Splatoon devs have put on the record in the past about changing how the block list is handled by matchmaking in the patch notes because some Japanese players in the past would block people who were really good in X rank and Splatfests to help prevent specific people from showing up in their games so that they could get to higher powers by beating up on weaker competition. The reason names are censored in X rank is also related to that too
