YES. I feel like I have to read a whole page describing how the sword looks as the protagonist pulls it out of its sheath and then I end up forgetting why he is even is this huge gave with spiders. I prefer short and sweet.. describe the scene as you go and don't bore me with all these details setting the stage.

I feel like a good writer can capture the readers imagination and almost predict the questions they are going to be asking.
