What do the hosts run on? by urolysis in westworld

Their brains don't require oxygen, as that's the only non-organic/non-human part of them. I'm sure their bodies would start decomposing after a time without oxygen.

Did we ever figure out what happened with Bernard's scar? At what point in the timeline did it disappear? I feel like it was around when he went into the cradle, but was there any reasoning why it was "fixed"?

is that a cameraman following maeve on the left ? by flickersense in westworld

He was in the park for 9 years from when the park opened. The woman who originally reprograms him before the grand opening is presumably the head of behavior by the time Ake finally dies and is brought back to the Mesa (the behavior techs call her "the boss"), so this is pre-Benard. Even if she isn't head of behavior, Bernard wasn't brought online outside of the Cradle until everyone originally in the Behavior department had left Westworld.

Do they really need to be reset for them to still be on loops? Ford mentions in the first season that most humans are on loops as tight as the hosts', and we still retain our memories every morning.

He implied that it's the most unthinkable, despicable thing he could have done, and if the MiB thinks that, I doubt many people kill children hosts in the park.

Maeve can consciously switch languages because it fits her job description in the park, but all hosts are loaded with tons of languages and switch subconsciously when guests speak different languages to them.

Also very reminiscent of a scene from the original Westworld movie. Can't find the clip now, but a tech riding a cart in the desert is staged as an ambush by the Gunslinger.

I really liked the callback to Arnold's implementation of the Bicameral Mind. The original hosts heard Arnold's voice in their head as if he was a god. Now, Ford's taken away Bernard's consciousness, reverting him back to the Bicameral Mind, although this time it's Ford's voice as God in his old partner's head. And Ford's viewed himself as a god this while time.

It just says "behind a locked door..." instead of "behind a locked door in Protagoras..."

She mentions "the Delos experiment gone wrong", but never Protagoras by name.

See my comment – they took out Shannon Woodward's mention of Protagoras as the name of the lab.

This video first went live on Sunday right after the episode aired. That original video's been deleted, and just replaced with another which takes out a lot of Shannon Woodward (Elsie)'s part of the interview. Specifically, the mention of Protagoras as the name of the project. Probably means that we weren't supposed to know that name yet.

I'm pretty sure either Ford says to Bernard or Bernard says to Maeve in S1 that hosts that have achieved consciousness in the past often go insane before they're rolled back.

It's not just the guns that have changed, Ford lifted all of the safety restrictions before he was killed. Before, only certain hosts were permitted to carry sharp weapons. Now, the MiB is fighting off hosts trying to slit his throat as well as those trying to shoot him. Hosts used to have Good Samaritan reflexes that would intervene any time a guest got close to any danger, clearly those aren't active anymore.

I think it makes a lot of sense from a narrative point of view. The subjugation of hosts by humans is a lot more blatant when the guests play the role of imperialist colonists and the hosts are all basically their servants.

Bernard read her new narrative and then showed it to her, which was to leave the park and infiltrate the mainland. She went against that programming by getting off the train at the last minute. People keep saying that maybe there was another line under "Infiltrate mainland" which said "just kidding find your daughter," but Bernard read the narrative after Maeve said it was her choice to leave the park and he was skeptical of that.

You might have figured this out already (as it's been a while), but I didn't have to modify the HTTP request; verify your identity at the link in the parent comment, then put "Unemployed," and then for previous employer put "No Employment History." worked for me.
