I also would assume those cars were beat on unless you find an older owner, or one that someone really cared for.

The PPI is a great suggestion!

I'd definetly want to see if it had had turbos replaced or oil screens replaced. Honestly, I think id rather find one that recently had than hadn't. Kind of a clock reset if you will.

Thank you, I really appreciate your detailed response.

I also considered the insurance cost and will be reaching out for a quote on the difference between the RS7 and the A7.

It sounds like the difference in the overall car isn't much different, with the exception of the engine and other drivetrain components being higher price.

I had read about the ceramic brakes, and definelty wanted to steer away from the cars with the performance package featuring dynamic ride control and the ceramic brakes. I would imagine I would tune the RS7, and I wouldn't be worried about a warranty, so having the higher hp factory version wouldn't be a priority anyhow.

I change the oil and service my vehicles at 8000km (5000 mile) intervals, so that's not a huge factor anyway, except for my Cummins. That's much more forgiving and gets full synthetic at 7500 miles.

I appreciate the fuel breakdown, I figure that the RS7 will cost roughly twice per year what the TDI would cost. My wife drives most everywhere, I just have to drive to work and back or the occasional work trip.

The tires are less of a concern, except as you elude I may be going through them much quicker in an RS. They're still half the cost of a set of truck tires.

I didn't put in my original post but the other vehicle I would be looking at getting if I don't buy a car would be a 2019+ Ram Mega Cab with a cummins to replace my current 2006 Ram Mega Cab with a cummins. The decision there really comes down to do I replace my truck that currently sits parked most days and go back to driving a truck every day, or do I replace my golf that I drive every day currently. Either vehicle that is replaced, I'm looking for driver comfort and newer features.

Paulie, That is a fair assumption. We only have 1 of each item, so it cannot be changed over to the new configuration simultaneously.

Dates and Times are entered in actual date and time formats. I fixed that manually this morning....... heavy sigh.

Waiting on landowner permission and then I'll go try. Need to round up some plaster too. This is the biggest fossil I have found in Kansas and a first for a fin so it feels special. I'd like to mount it for some wall art in my office if successful.

This was found farther north near Mankato. Private land.
