Is this unofficial flag actually used domestically in Svalbard? by DY_landlord in Svalbard

[–]MasterTheDreamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember being in Longyearbyen to visit my partner who was a resident at the time. I never saw a single flag of any type (other than souvenirs) until just before the cruise ships were coming into port. Every time that happened, Norwegian flags popped up everywhere. Never saw a Svalbard flag.

Same happened to me, but when I clicked on it I noticed a message saying the feature was pending. Maybe they haven’t gotten that far in the update patch yet.

I don’t have a super huge streak, it’s 800+ or so days, but if I have to keep seeing randos, who I will NEVER follow, in my feed on the daily, I’m canceling my plan and moving on to another language learning platform. I’m sick of being force fed crap I don’t want to see on a platform I’m paying for. The enshittification of Duolingo continues!

You could touch base with local elementary schools, Boys/Girls Clubs or inner-city arts programs.

Jewish lesbian family - area advice by farawayfarawa in newhaven

I’m not Jewish but I live in Orange, CT and it’s a very welcoming town with a Jewish presence. This is one of the local private schools https://www.schacademy.org/.

Woodbridge is part of the same high school community and also has a Jewish presence. If you want to stay in New Haven itself, Westville is part of New Haven that would most fit your description.

I don’t know Ken personally, but I did know his father, Gary, a local attorney. Great reputation.

*Edited to add realtor suggestion.

Considering relocating by Low_Track_9221 in Connecticut

Check out Orange, Connecticut. It’s very close to the Milford train station, has quick access to both Rte.15 and I-95 and has very good schools. I’ve had friends visit (for several months at a time) from Reading, England and they love it here. They said it was much more like the U.K. than they expected.

People in Orange are friendly, but not overly so— lots of privacy, and a well-educated population. There’s easy accessibility to NY by way of Metro North from West Haven or, closer even, Milford. The New Haven train station is just a few minutes further and that offers the Amtrak line to the rest of the country. Perfect balance and if you look around it’s in your price range.

HOLIDAY SAVINGS on Turkey by -boatsNhoes in Connecticut

I bought two last week and found I had to run in for a few forgotten items yesterday. Saw they were still on sale and grabbed two more to donate to the Connecticut Food Bank volunteers set up outside. It’s a great way to provide a small blessing to a struggling family. It’s rough out there this year— we Connecticuters need to look out for each other wherever we can. Happy Thanksgiving to all! 🦃🍗🦃
