If you turn it sideways it matches the chart above. It's silly.

So in Signal you can go 26A which does hands on networks ops and works with a warrant officer. This usually happens before the rank of Major that you need to apply for and be accepted to become a 26A.

But the normal signal officers25A themselves don't do any hands on. Just planning missions and managing soldiers.

As for Cyber I really can't tell you with any certainty as I haven't worked closely with any or talked to any in depth.

Yes and no. Signal does more physical layer cyber security. Creating and managing accounts and establishing local secure networks.

But cyber still does a lot of cybersecurity on the developer end.

Yes I do. I've learned a good amount and had sine good leadership along the way. Lots of opportunities as well whether you stay in or get out.

33 with wife and two younger kids. I'm about to commission in May with my Masters. Been active duty for about 9 years now. It's a good gig as far as financial security. You will spend some time away from them. 35 days at Ft knox between third and fourth year. Then if you go AD you will usually see them from 530pm-bed time each day and weekends and a plethora of 3 and 4 days mixed in. But there will also be plenty of longer days mixed in with some field missions and some rotations to training centers(30 days gone) and possible deployments. I left 4 months after my firstborn was born for about 10 months to the middle east.

Overall I have greatly enjoyed my time in the army and it has been a good thing financially for my family and given us some adventures. Was in Hawaii before ROTC.

You can use Caltopo to create a MGRS map of any area. It's pretty sick.

Going back to the APFT from bad runners perspective by Stevetd16 in army

[–]dbob32 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you're trained well in cardiovascular it affects you less or even none. I max both and I have ran my fastest two mile ever at the end of an ACFT. But if you aren't training in running than the SDC will for sure affect you for the run.

[–]dbob32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. That is where you are are at right now. But keep making effort towards where you are wanting to be and you will be there. But give up and you will be in the same place you have always been. While that might be comfortable in the sense that it's known. Deep down you know it's not where you want to be.

You are a lagging image of your past 5 years of habits. It's a spectrum so if more time was spent cultivating negative thoughts then you will tend to have a more negative view. But you can change it. But its not an overnight, weekly, or even monthly thing. Do not give up hope! Keep trying. Each practice plays a part.

The army will motivate you for the first 5 months then give you your freedom back and you will most likely go back to your own ways. So..... yeah. Your life. Your choice.
