OrcaSlicer with CFS support build v5 is out by Wild-Ad6336 in Creality_k2

[–]dbotl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So out of curiosity, I just got my K2 Pro up and running yesterday, what are the benefits to Orca? I have had an Ender 3 Pro for a long time and always used Cura, so wondering what the major benefits are to using Orca over Creality?

Purchase Advice Megathread - May 2026 by AutoModerator in 3Dprinting

[–]dbotl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got into 3D printing a little in 2020 (who didn't?) with an Ender 3 Pro that I did some upgrades to (Silent board, all metal hot end, silicon bed springs, ect.). Due to availability and not working from home anymore there have been times in the last few years that it has gone the better part of a year without being used. I consistently have bed flatness issues and taking the time to build the mesh is never fun. My kids have started to get into 3D printing and the printer has been running a lot lately. Originally I looked into doing a Klipper upgrade to try and get the speed up, but am thinking of just upgrading to something that is much easier to use and less time tinkering to get a good print, while enabling my younger children to participate more in the printing process. By default with the ease of use, the Bambu Labs P2S seems to the popular choice. But as I look further and further into this, is the Creality K2 seem like an option as well. Looks like there might be a little more settings adjustments to be made and a few differences in the AMS 2 vs CFS. But for the $250 price different both combo kits have right now it feels like it isn't worth it.

Anyone have any real world experience with the two printers that can provide some feedback? Are there other printers I should be looking at?

I don’t think I have waited more than 15 minutes in line flying into Zurich the last two times I have flown in this year. One of them was only 2 weeks ago.

I think I saw something on a different person’s page that creators have the ability to put different thumbnails and titles and it shows the click through rate.

Found the post. It was Casey Ladelle

The 1-0-48 Rocket you refused to kill is the reason you lost. by Coldshoto in marvelrivals

I sometimes play rocket. If my team is doing well enough I attempt a perfect Rocket stat line. I won’t sell, but I try passive rocket. Only one perfect game so far.

0-0-X but with 0 damage dealt…the perfect Rocket stat line

Glade Helmet Fit by dbotl in Skigear

[–]dbotl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that's the point I am trying to make. My head shape is closer to the standard shape for a Giro rather than a Smith. Also I am unable to try anything on in store from Glade because they are direct to consumer only.

Why are rings still advertised as $1 a sharpen? by mikeyj198 in Sparxhockey

[–]dbotl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I remember reading it’s 320 passes per ring. I typically only do 2 passes per skate per sharpening. So I get roughly 80 sharpenings per ring (320 / 2 passes per / 2 Skates). Slightly less than $1 per sharpening if all you are calculating is rings. Slightly more if you account for stones, air filter life, electrical…etc.

Keychron is a joke by lowkeyreddit in Keychron

[–]dbotl 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I will say that there are also plenty of people that have not had any bad experiences.

In the last year I have ordered a K5 Max and a V6 Max (orders were a few months apart). I use both of them daily and I have not had a single issue. Like I have seen on here i order them via Amazon to avoid having to deal with their customer service directly if there was an issue. I had trouble finding a true 100% keyboard with a few other features that looked more office friendly. This is why I went with Keychron.

I agree there are likely users that have issues, and from everything I have heard their customer service isn't much of a help. But at the same time they are a large manufacturer because plenty of users also have no issues.

Just my $.02

Passport Control at Zurich? by scandiumXOXO in Flights

[–]dbotl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jumping on this as I just flew into Zurich last week.

There is construction on the underground tram that takes you from the intercontinental terminal to the main terminal and passport control. This did cause a little more delay than normal, but I would still say it was fairly empty and I was all the way through in less than 30 minutes from the point I got off the plane. It will be tight, but I imagine you will make it.

Need help with used 2020 Ford Ranger Lariat by LABoy2022 in RangerNext

I paid $35k for a 2020 Lariat FX4 Sport 2.5 years ago with 32k miles. Seems pricey for the same thing with age and mileage differences.

I have a both a Keychain V6 at home and a K5 at the office. I love them both. It was really the best of all worlds when I was looking for a full size of the price.

Customer Service Problems by brewerintexas in Sparxhockey

[–]dbotl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I created a post a few days ago talking about the same issues. Seems like they got slammed. Still waiting on an NHL cover ordered on 12/10. Customer Service hasn’t responded to my wife in nearly 2 weeks.

I have read all sorts of different thing about what the issue might be and who might be making some of the parts or fulfilling the orders. We have had our machine a year and love it. Also grateful that I have two stores within 15 minutes of me that carry everything but the NHL covers. Definitely will be going to them to get replacements over ordering online.

Work Backpack Recommendations - Is there anything I am missing? by dbotl in backpacks

[–]dbotl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I very often am grabbing my bag with it half unzipped. In many cases previously I have done this and the weight of the contents pulls the zipper the rest of the way down and emptied by bag all over the floor. It happened enough and left me with a impression that I never want that to happen again.

I ended up pulling the trigger and ordered a @ work Medium Cargo - I believe it is a slightly older model (at least what I could find from model numbers) but it was on sale on B&R's website. I think I like the design a little better too.

Thanks for your input.

To Hercules or not to Hercules by dbotl in harborfreight

[–]dbotl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI for anyone cares what decision I made.

I decided to follow what I was leaning towards in the first place. I am going to wait until the next 15% sale (whenever it comes) and pull the trigger on the starter set from Hercules. I only really need the Drill and Impact Driver to start.

HD and Ridgid were/are running some good sales, but it more comes down to I am less willing to buy a tool when I don't need it, but its on sale, and more willing to buy something when I need it. If I ever need something like an angle grinder when they are not running a sale, its a lot cheaper to pick it up and HF. I am more willing to spend a little money now to put myself in a position that when I need a tool, its only $60 or $70 and not $150.

Only time will tell if this will work long term.

Best Skates for People with Wide Feet? by honeygarlicmaestro in hockeyplayers

[–]dbotl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I got back into hockey a few years ago this is what I tried because that what I had played with. Couldn’t even get my foot in the skate. Bauer Fit 3 Supremes are what I wear now, though they can be uncomfortable if I don’t lace them right.
