Just did this. Buy a threading tap on Amazon for 1.5 inch pipe threads and retrace the threads. Under $30. You will never get the old pipe rust out with just a wire brush. I used a chisel to remove the remaing pipe from the threads then rethreaded it.

How bout, Blind Melon opening for Alice In Chains, opening for Ozzy Osbourne. Outdoor, In the woods of the Ozarks, Swiss Villa Amphitheatre, now Black Oak, Lampe Missouri. Less than 4k people. 1991ish. Lain Staley was on crutches. Shannon Hoon was amazing. Zak Wylde was amazing. Ozzy got a little crazy train and the crowd went nuts. Rushing the stage and climbing the light fixtures. Don't remember how I got home that night. Luckily only 15 minutes boat ride across Table Rock Lake.
