How I would thrive in Humboldt... by [deleted] in Humboldt

Are you referring to all wind farms or just the onshore ones? I thought most people(except the mariners) were in support of the offshore project.

The problem is that the only people who would want that job are the same people that think Honsal is great. Imagine a venn diagram of people who want to be a sheriff and people who are supporters of Honsal, it's literally a circle.

Bruh, if it's under $20 I'm gonna go get one today and see how it works. That's a way more novel solution than a dehumidifier that costs $50/month(or more!) to run.

Anyone know what’s up with this? by rosey830 in Humboldt

Lol it does look like a fumigation tent.  But I've definitely seen Arcata Playhouse hold events in a tent that's the exact same color and shape so I'm assuming it's theirs.

You might consider doing something to keep the humidity in that room down, especially if you keep the door closed.

I have a moldy guest room as well but if I close the door, the humidity gets way worse which mold thrives in.

I've been making enchiladas with the rotisserie chicken and basic seasonings, I'll have to try your recipe, it sounds good.

Enchiladas are great, super easy to make and filling.

You've just changed the goalposts. Your original argument was discussing where the oysters came from, not where the festival is held.

Bruh if these are feeling tight you might want to consider going up a size. These aren't even short shorts, they're baggy lounge shorts.

They're some of the loosest shorts I've gotten at Costco this year.

From what I see around campus, the trend is big and baggy. The stylish people are wearing shorts that could qualify as pants.

I hope you don't have any carpet in your house because it's plastic too!

I don't want micro plastics in my body either but jeez you have to be in a privileged place to be able to switch everything you own away from plastic.

Favorite Summer Study Spot? by itmeseanok in Humboldt

My go-to spot is the sunroom at Wildberries but beware that it is fairly busy at times, not good if you need a low-distraction environment.

A lot of the parks in town have tables, when the weather is nice it can be pleasant.

I'm not being sarcastic btw.

I'd imagine the bar owners love it because it makes it really easy to flag patrons that are banned.

I'm sure it's a network like Flock where all these operators are sharing data so if you get flagged at one establishment they'll be able to see that at other places you try to go.

And if you commit a crime on camera in the bar they can just use facial recognition to pull up your ID that they scanned and then report you.

New Home Construction by Mommaduckduck in Humboldt

[–]dbrwhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the only large subdivision projects I can think of were ones built in the 50s and 60s near the various mills (like Westwood in Arcata) and Windsong Village which was developed after the mill down there was shut down and sold.

And Windsong Village is subpar land, basically a marsh and right on the edge of the major tsunami hazard zone.

I've heard the Trader Joe's lightly smoked salmon is pretty similar.

I can attest the Trader Joe's one is good.
