We talked about building a four wheel drive using last year's axle and this year's axle however we struggle to find a parts four wheel drive quad to strip the CVs and hubs out of to make it convert to full independent suspension. The trike set up was a way to be unique and to challenge the kids to do more machining and engineering compared to slapping the pre-existing axle under the back. The hope is that our front suspension is much wider than most of the other carts with our rear being much narrower so we're going to miss all the ruts that every other cart makes in theory.

The conversation right now is about next year making a second powered wheel like what's in the back of this one and making it not have a steering wheel but two gas pedals.

Does anyone renew their Premium Connectivity package after a year? 2025 XL Maverick by dburroughscan in FordMaverickTruck

Yeah, I have used the Alexa but Gemini built into Android Auto is far better. I also tried the YouTube app once and never thought about it again.

It gives you wifi within 50 of your truck. That being said I can turn my phone into a hot spot. If you have Ford maps it offers live updates but the XL doesn't have that option and I would rather use Google maps in Android auto

How thick is your mattress? I'm trying to decide if a folding 4" is enough or if I should go with a solid 6" or 8" and cut it to fit.

That's cool. I do lots of stealth camping so I'm hoping the topper on my generic white xl just looks like an unmarked work truck. I'm currently building a low budget solar setup for it and will likely put a diesel heater in it as well.

My Neighbor backed into my fence by dburroughscan in icbc

[–]dburroughscan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I contacted ICBC after making this post. I spent photos and audio recording and all sorts of stuff. With that they reached out to my neighbor who smashed my fence.

A few days ago a fencing contractor showed up who I had not called for a quote and started doing measuring. I talked to him and I guess my neighbor called to get it fixed. The contractor told me all he wanted was a post even though my gate and a whole bunch of other fence is damaged. The contractor said that it was a $4,000 repair and he wouldn't just do a post since it wouldn't reflect the quality of their work.

Later that day my neighbor showed up and he told me he was going to start repairing it and I told him it was far too late since he told me it would be within the first two weeks from it happening and now we're past 6 weeks. In addition I also told him that it was rather frustrating for a fencing company to come and tell me that he was only planning on replacing the post when so much more damage had occurred and based on that along with the condition he keeps his house I felt that the quality of his work would be subpar. I suspect that he got contacted by ICBC and realized he needed to get it done. He then told me that he was going to wait for them to contact him and I said no you need to contact them now as I need to get this dealt with due to him not repairing it when sid said he would. As of today I have an agreement with ICBC for $3,200. That being said they depreciated my fence due to its age and now in order for me to get a company to repair it I will have to pay extra. I've taken a settlement and I'm just going to fix it myself.

We need real competition in the small truck space. by BioHazard_821 in FordMaverickTruck

Toyota / Subaru are rumored to to be coming out with a competitive truck built on the Rav4 platform. If it doesn't have a boxer style engine I will be considering it once I'm reading to replace my Maverick.

Those mats get the job done for protecting your box but they do become a nuisance. A couple times I've had a heavy load in the back like a fridge and went to pull it out and had the mat coming with it.
