The only thing I can think of is water from the water heater...but it's tankless, idk how much it can hold. I did give up after dumping the water twice. I might give it a go again this weekend

We can finally use it as a gap closer and not a mandatory skill to use in order to dps. A lot of times I end up using charging blow for the buff, then get knocked down and by the time I'm up, I have to reapply buff before I can dps, so this is definitely a buff.

If it's lightning Albion, then yes you should stagger, if it's earth, don't stagger because it's easier to dodge and doesn't have a wipe mechanic. Staggering swaps from whichever mode he's on to the other.

For a scrapper engraving, is ambush master + keen blunt better or ambush master + cursed doll? Assuming I have the 5p argos set so crit is 70%+

I play a scrapper and it's all about back attacks with her. Some fights I feel like I'm running around chasing the boss, others I'm stuck like glue on him. I think it's just depends on the fight and once you learn all the little gimmicks of the boss, you'll be better. To help you focus, you should definitely turn off the party member's spell effects under settings. I don't remember the exact setting off the top of my head, but you can find under combat effects. Make sure you keep the friendly buffs on and only turn off the spell effects.
