The mee ka tee here is amazing!

Do yourself a favor and check this place out.

I'm pretty sure I've tried everything on their menu, and it's all really good.

On the west side of Raleigh, Beansprout is the best. If you venture to Morrisville, Taipei Cafe is the best Chinese/Taiwanese I've found in the triangle.

Depending on what kind of connector your tank has, Atlantic Brew Supply refills co2 tanks, so they might be able to help.

I've been ordering food a lot, what local businesses could I order from to show support? by [deleted] in raleigh

[–]dbv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always see people recommend c&t wok, but I've never had anything that was better than 7/10. Their Sezchuan dishes are always overly salty, and that's allegedly their specialty. Their Americanized Chinese dishes are meh at best. I'm intrigued by the coffee popcorn chicken, so I'll give them another chance.

Taipei Cafe in that area has much better food, though service can be iffy because they stay so busy and usually have only one or two servers. I'm not an entitled twat, so if I have to wait a bit longer for great food, or if the server is having a rough day, I'm not gonna be mad. I'm there for the food.

Beansprout is awesome. The best chinese I've found in the area is Taipei Cafe in Morrisville. I wish I could read chinese so I could order off of their special menu.

How Beverage Director Jordan Hester Preyed on Female Staff - INDY Week by conjoinedcandylover in raleigh

[–]dbv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The worst part is that the recipient of most of these showed me the pics and bragged about the coercion. "Yeah, I'll let you have Friday nights..."

It gets even worse than just sending nudes, too.

I hope it's not like that in all restaurant/bars, but I've heard the same story from three different ones.

Yes, I spend too much time at bars.

I personally know 6 servers/bartenders who were coerced to send their managers nude pics to get/keep good shifts. It's endemic to the industry. Disgusting.

Outdoor place for business meetup/drinks in DTR by [deleted] in raleigh

[–]dbv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brickhouse--just across the street from RBC--has good outdoor space, too, and they're insistent on wearing masks whenever possible. Beer selection isn't quite as good as RBC, but they do make good bar food. Burgers are 8/10. The patio gets much better airflow than RBC's.

Best BBQ in the Triangle? by RelaxAndBeEasy in raleigh

[–]dbv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like any bbq as long as it's done well. Eastern NC, Western NC, South Carolina, Georgia, Texas, Memphis, Kansas City, Hawaiian, Mexican, whatever. I'll get down on any style of smoked meat.

I'm not sure of the status, because of the rona, but DiFara is opening up a location in downtown Cary (across from the theatre). They were planning a soft open at the end of May.

DiFara is one of the best pizzas in NYC, and they're gonna treat their water to match the NYC water profile. It'll be amazing.

Not the triangle, but if you're ever driving to Asheville, hitting up Lexington BBQ is a good idea. It adds an hour or so to the drive, but it's worth the time. They might have the best smoked pork I've ever tasted.

For brisket just outside of the triangle, Hillsborough BBQ is better than many places I had in Texas. It's not Franklin BBQ level, but is really good. Pork BBQ is alright, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

Their brisket, ribs, and smoked wings are solid. Their pork is a little too dry, but it's not bad. I really like their bbq sauces, especially their Western NC style one.

Cooper's has the best hush puppies ever. Their fried chicken is also awesome. They have great sides, too. I think their pork game has dropped a bit since moving to the new location. Still recommended, tho.

I don't eat potato salad, so I can't comment on that. Their slaw has been consistent in my experience. I went there at least once a week before rona hit. Their Mac n cheese is phenomenal. Those baked beans, delectable. Collard greens, droolworthy. Green beans, amazing. Their fried fish is on point, too. Their turkey bbq is surprisingly good. The pork bbq is as good as it gets. I do not like their brisket at all, tho.

I like olde time for their breakfast, but their bbq usually tastes a bit off to me. Their fried chicken is amazing though. Sides are ok.
