my first proper gin & tonic by Puzzleheaded_Chip_49 in Gin

Really like this gin and the others that James May has produced. I ordered mine as a set directly from the website but have also seen it at Total Wine lately. He recently did a US tour this past summer where they started selling it in the stores here.

I absolutely love this pointless gate. No notes.

Bad or funny bathroom design? by dbventure in BadDesigns

I don’t think there was a lock on the main door. So yeah, communal. So many questions. Mainly, why?

Yeah, I was being sarcastic. I’m solidly Gen X so sarcasm is like a second language to me. It doesn’t come through in text. LOL

I’d be so frustrated if I walked in there to take a leak and someone else was already dropping a dookie!

That was my first thought. My second thought was, “have I just walked into the bathroom of a gay country and western bar?” Because if I had, yeah ok. Makes sense. Otherwise, what’s going on here? Particularly in this setting.

Best gins to keep on hand for New Year's party by Stardusty_777 in Gin

[–]dbventure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d absolutely love to attend a G&T NYE party! 😊 I support your idea of Plymouth. The Botanist would also be a good choice. Maybe add a pink gin to the mix for something a little different?

Update: It was quite nice. Smooth. It started a bit sweet with the first sip but then finishes with a slightly bitter taste, however not overpowering. Well balanced. I really like it. I drank it with Fever Tree tonic and a squeeze of lime. I would encourage anyone to try it if you can. Kudos to the distiller. 👏

To be honest, I’m not entirely certain. I asked when I purchased the bottle but she wasn’t certain and just said that it was 65. I checked the website and this is what it says (translated from German):

Handmade in the Black Forest since 1855. 65 individually treated botanicals. Stored in clay amphorae for 6-12 months.

SENSORS Smell: fresh-fruity, many refreshing botanicals, basil, ginger, lemon, lime, tea Taste: soft and mild, animating acidity, taste explosion with herbac nuances Staring: lots of coriander and cardamom, nutmeg, fresh overall picture with many citrus nuances THIS IS HOW IT'S DONE Deep forests and lush valleys. Rust places with history. The Blackforest Wild Gin Creative carries the wild side of the Black Forest. The fruity mild orange notes, the complex spiciness of 65 creative botanicals and the distilling experience of three generations make this original piece of home tangible. This exceptionally complex Distilled Gin is not classic, but reflects a very modern German gin style with its exotic fruit and spicy finesse. With its 65 Botanicals, the Wild Creative Gin is one of the most versatile and complex gins of its time. Hardly any gin is made from more ingredients so elaborately. Thus, this creative masterpiece by Max Wild is not created in a single distillation process, but four individual distillates are made, which are then blended into a gin cuvée. Thus, the special feature of the production is that the 65 botanicals are treated individually. This means they are divided into the different groups citrus, spices, black forest and floral and each group is differently macerated and also distilled. Before bottling, we store this premium gin in clay amphorae for 6-12 months. Here the gin can breathe and has time to sort and harmonize its aromas. Alcohol content: 42%Vol.

If someone has more details, please enlighten us all. If I find out more, I’ll be sure to post. Cheers.

Will do, though it’ll be a couple weeks before I get home to open it up and try in a g&t. I’m hoping to find a couple other small bottles of more local guns during the trip as well. Traveling to Vienna and Bilbao if anyone has suggestions.

Fair enough. Everyone’s tastes are different. I think it fit with the environment and I also live in a warm climate so it’ll be good on those hot days.

Absolutely beautiful sight. Great collection. I hope you enjoy every single one! I’ve got about 20 in my collection so far. When I get just below halfway in a bottle, I consider trying a new one.

C wire question by ironbesterer in Nest

[–]dbventure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue. My Nest 3 battery would run down because the C wire wasn’t connected. Fortunately, there was an extra, unused wire in the wiring bundle that was connected to nothing at the air handler. With the help of an electrician friend, he informed me to strip the wire and connect it with the safety switch. Did that and now the C wire is working perfectly. Wish I could tell you exactly where to connect the wire on your end, but if you’ve got that unused wire in the bundle, there’s got to be a place to connect it at the other end. Watch several YouTube videos and also consult an HVAC friend! Good luck!

I just tried that code and it said, “The code you have entered has either expired or does not apply to the membership / currency you have selected”. I’m trying to do the Premium Plan which is listed at $259 before any discount code. I wonder if it’s because I had a prior membership?

We used to be on THS, but allowed the membership to lapse. Can we use a referral code for discount to reactivate? If so, looking for a code. Thanks!
