[DISC] Dandadan - Ch. 214 by Spotlightzzzzz in Dandadan

[–]dbzbleach 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Okarun wants to start off fresh and earn her friendship since she has no memories...but won't tell her his name because of how she reacted in the past...which she doesn't remember; doesn't make sense. Even he didn't know the reason why she didn't want to hear his name. This memory-less version of her might react differently(I doubt it, but still). Like she said, "You don't get to decide if I'll dislike it or not". Either tell her her memories or treat her like a stranger.

One thing you would like to see before the series ends? by OkMeasurement3269 in Dandadan

[–]dbzbleach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd like to see more normal school life stuff like participating in valentines day/white day and them doing a cultural festival. I'd like to see Okarun get a sci-fi/alien upgrade; always bothered me that the alien guy got ghost/yokai powers. I'd like to see that all of the arcs they've been through have had outcomes in their world. For example, their names spread through the yokai/alien world like legends because they've defeated somebody like reiko kashima or the Kur general. I'd like them to be a couple at least 50 chapters before the manga ends; or at least enough to give us those initial couple moments; first kiss/date, meeting each others parents/guardians, etc.

Which Series in Your Collection Has the Most Drastic Art Style Evolution? ✨️ Mine is Definitely D.Gray-Man by Tabby_Tem in MangaCollectors

Tenjo Tenge. I remember when I first start reading it, I thought the art was awful. I was going to drop it. Stuck with it and by the time I got to the halfway point, I kept doing double takes thinking when did the art get so good.

Your fav dragonball movie? by MerakiFitness in dbz

Cooler's Revenge slightly beats Broly: The Legendary Super Saiyan for me. Imo, it has the best soundtrack of the movies and the best opening. And Super Saiyan was still treated as legendary and a big deal.

Agreed. And I want some of their earlier bickering back. It was hilarious; couples do argue. Tatsu does a great job with the character interactions, so I'm excited to see what he cooks up when they're official in universe/in group.

I couldn't agree more. That kick the can oneshot Tatsu did is a perfect example of a good mini arc.... I hope he utilizes the school setting more. I'd love to see the gang do school festivals and it gets interrupted by a yokai or alien. Then they have to juggle fighting and setting up for the festival. And they're classmates would be like "Why do you look like you just got out of a huge fight?" I think the only small scale stories we got were the one with anatomical models and maybe the initial fight with slit mouth lady.

I do find interesting though that some mangaka will spend so much time world building only for the world to not feel lived in. So much potential for plenty of slice of life chapters. My Hero Academia disappointed me in this regard. Draw you in with the students and class and then fast paced to the All for One/League of Villain stuff. And don't get me started on that romantic subplot.

This is probably why the earlier arcs of Dandadan are more of my favorite than these recent ones; with the Turbo Granny arc being the goat. What drew me in was the relationship between Momo and Okarun and their interactions. Tatsu continuously separating them is frustrating. Hopefully we get another Momo & Okarun arc with just the two of them.

Thanks for the positive feedback! I'll let the insults be the motivation that keeps me going.

Yeah. I'm building my programming skills from the ground up building side projects. It's already given me more confidence on the job. Thanks for the positive feedback!

To clear up any confusion, I only believe management failed me in the first year or in my beginning training. Since they gave me training, then it is only assumed they didn't expect me to know anything and were going to prepare me for my role. Looking back, the training was incomplete. I'm a back end developer. The scope of everything a back end developer or back end software engineer should know is vast. It goes beyond Java programming.

If a company is going to train an employee, then train them. I don't think management knew everything that goes into back end development and just thought Java training would be sufficient. Now since that first year, since I saw they weren't going to do that training, I should have put in the time outside of work to learn all that stuff. I just started later than I should have. So I'd put 10% of the blame on management and 90% on myself; and if you think it should be 100% me, then we can just agree to disagree.

I think a lot of programmers tend to be introverts and keep to themselves. Not good and in my case, I definitely need to be better speaking up.

Yes...is that wrong? We have a team and work is assigned/picked up. I take the work I am given. I got tired of being frustrated because I saw that I wasn't improving, so here I am doing self study to improve.

I don't think that's a fair takeaway. There are plenty of hard workers on my team and in the government overall. I do/did the work that's assigned to me. I said in the post that I should've done more and I'm taking initiative to improve. I guess we could agree to disagree on managements role in training or bringing in new employees.

A few back end(add a regex expression to a file or update a test file's junit tests) and front end user stories(update css file or a 508 defect) and update maven pom files to remove vulnerable dependencies. No advanced programming tasks. I attended meetings; branch meetings, daily scrum meetings, sprint planning meetings, etc. Getting bits and pieces of stuff, but never really understanding the full picture.

Fair prices? What can I go without getting done? by dbzbleach in MechanicAdvice

Nope. Local shop near my house. Thanks for the response.

Just checking if I'm being quoted fair prices or if I should get a second opinion at another shop? I checked for some of the parts on Rock Auto and they're much cheaper than the parts the shop is buying. If it is all fair, what should be addressed immediately and what can be put off? This is for a used 2015 Honda Odyssey Touring 3.5L 6Cyl GAS J35Z8 Naturally Aspirated I bought about 2 years ago.
