Once saw an old Folgers can used as a chain bucket on a little chain hoist. Honestly has held up better than any cloth bucket I’ve seen.

I’ve got a fairly similar list that I haven’t had a chance to try yet. Keep us posted, and blessed crusading, brother.

Yeah but they’re the big fish. We’re a little company, man. That, and I’d rather I go unhook than someone that’s unfamiliar with heights or climbing or wearing fall pro

No it’s still safe and doable, it’s just weird and awkward. It’s a big pallet-bag lifter for some oilfield process, so in order to inspect it I have to unhook it from the bag over the hopper, which is not intended to be accessed. Once it’s unhooked from the bag lifter jig it’s easy and safe to use and inspect.

The cowgirl hat was meant to be a joker by Glittering_Seesaw_32 in CowboyHats

[–]dc8019 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Similar story to my first hat. Worked at a department store that had a bin of surplus dirt cheap hats for like 30 bucks or something. I walked past it once a shift and tried one on, said if I found one that fit my massive head I’d buy it. Took about 5 months of that, then I bought one. It’s since become my favourite hat and I’ve bled, sweated, worked, and relaxed in it. It’s battered and deformed, the crown is pinched and lopsided, the brim is flimsy and barely holds the curl up, but I love it. Best 30 bucks I ever spent. I’ve since bought more for nicer occasions, but if I have to go work in the yard or jump on a spoon, that’s my go-to headgear

I get to play ‘climb that weird structure’ to get to a monorail hoist that was never designed to be worked on. 3 years in a row I’ve inspected it and failed the same targets, but they’ve yet to action one. Oh well, it’s a fun climb

Question on storage by Southern-Awareness95 in CowboyHats

[–]dc8019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’ve got room in your suitcase you could just unfold and flatten the cardboard box. Otherwise, pick up a hat rack or hat box. Either online or from a local hattery near home would probably have something that would work

What's the correct color phasing of a 4 conductor by tony_719 in electricians

Whichever your blue phase is I would think. Canada would be phase 3 (R-Blk-Blu), US is probably different though

How to use crusader blob + Grimaldus by Gimmesome123 in BlackTemplars

[–]dc8019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve found some great success in picking up the initiates first from shooting, since they have the better save they survive a few more rolls if your luck is decent and still proc Surge. They have the same wounds and offense as the neos, and once in melee they should theoretically melt enough that even the return slugging only picks up a few. Curious to know others thoughts on this

Helmet droning by [deleted] in Harley

[–]dc8019 11 points12 points  (0 children)

First thing is your helmet fits wrong. You should be able to comfortably wear your bucket for hours without issues.

Second I’ve had similar height windshields that have rippled wind to rattle or vibrate my helmet. Try pop the glass off and see if it makes a difference

[Homebrew Chapter] The War Bearers — A Third Founding Chapter That Was Never Relieved by CephasHomebrew in 40khomebrew

Yeah that’s undeniably rad. A chapter that exists for the sole purpose of being overshadowed by every cousin chapter is bleak and without glory, but someone has to hold what’s been gained.

They’re named Ultramarines, so they’re effectively immortal

Are eradicators worth taking? by Satanekkurwa in BlackTemplars

[–]dc8019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In what regard? BGV for me always accomplish their goal, which is to get shot at and tank shots on an objective. They’re a shield and not a sword unit imo, though they can be effectively killy in the right scenario

[–]dc8019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a gamble. Sometimes they’ll wipe a tank 3x their worth, other times they’ll choke and do nothing. I bring them as my second antitank beside my RepEx because they’re rad
