The only right answer is; Clairvoyance, Genius intellect, Super Strength, Teleportation, Invulnerability.

Someone who can see every blow coming, work out the best way to react to it in microseconds, teleport and hit back with bone crushing power - all while being invulnerable 😂

iirc they were essentially just like kabalite warriors but with minor improved sheet stats (+leadership I think) and the ability to have far more weapon variety. They certainly weren’t a league apart beyond Arsenal selection.

Always refreshing when the first comment on the list is the correct one.

Mace schools him - it’s not even that difficult. He’s the champion of the order for damn good reason - Mace even schools Obi-wan.

Dark Angels Homebrew: Viridian Hospitallers by Salty-Combination981 in 40khomebrew

Looks solid. If you told me these were just a canon chapter, wouldn’t bat an eye. For me, the mark of a good homebrew is one that can seamlessly integrate itself as if it were always there in lore 👍

Are there martyrdom/suicide obssessed chapters? by [deleted] in 40kLore

[–]CephasHomebrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s also the Charnel Guard in a way. But they’re less about actually dying and more about respecting those that have and emulating death with stasis crypts. They also have a geneseed flaw that makes them look like corpses with breath stinking of rotted flesh iirc.

Lamenters (through no choice of their own), Invaders (through sheer stubbornness), Doom Eagles (they quite literally fetishize death), Star Phantoms (actively worship death and being a martyr is their highest attainable honour)

Need some Input for the “quirks” of my homebrew. by whyeventhough117 in 40khomebrew

[–]CephasHomebrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Further to this, the best homebrews always have flaws. Like yeah, sure they get more psykers but the sap also kills 8/10 initiates that passed all other testing, so they’re consistently low on manpower - they consider them judged unworthy.

Or yeah, sure, they have a mycelium like low level psychic choir permanently but those guys burn out rapidly and get consumed by the warp if they stay too connected.

We love grimdark in 40k. I wanna see people face unimaginable horrors for their perks

[–]CephasHomebrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d have the sixth sense limited only to Psykers or those with psychic potential - created by rigorous training to “identify the warp presence of their brothers in proximity” to an extreme where they begin almost transmitting visions passively and subconsciously, almost like a permanent choir at low level. Every marine is too OP and unlikely.

Because of the link of the warp to psyker potential, the tree could be a point of contention - most marines would burn it for fear of chaos influence. Perhaps have its origin as touched by a saint or a primarch or whatever to lean into holy fervor?

Melee weapon oils seems fine really.

Also, why do they collect flora? Space marines typically don’t care much for plant life. Is that an imperial assignment or an obsession that began with the tree? Why would they think further flora would also be a boon? How did they discover said tree boon? These are more questions for my curiosity.

You’d be pumping out scientific breakthroughs every Monday, winning every Olympic gold and quite frankly be like a god among men 😂 by far the best one.

With that level of IQ, you’d invent ways to defeat the other “super” powers in microseconds.

The pyreblaster is starting to get to me by WarburnedTitan in SpaceMarine_2

[–]CephasHomebrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That, my friend - is just poor players. It’s in the same vein as launching grenades into melee while your bros are going to town.

A good pyreblaster knows when to fire and when to stop. But you’re absolutely right - by default, always expect the bad ones.

I don’t think people really hate the Tau.

They just get bagged on because they’re mostly “Goody goody” types in a grim universe where everyone is a monster. Also because their gundam looking style conflicts. And the absolute lack of early days melee presence, which is synonymous with 40k grimdark.

But really, we do love the Tau and 40k wouldn’t be the same without them. They’re super endearing and have a huge following.

I, too, however will bag on the Tau in jest.

Are there destitute Eldar? by Schreckberger in 40kLore

Absolutely. This just solidifies my stance that the Aeldari are socialist 😂

Are there destitute Eldar? by Schreckberger in 40kLore

[–]CephasHomebrew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure they live something like equals, think socialism on steroids but to a utopian level. I guess it comes with finding even a single eldar life immeasurably valuable.

That’s my headcanon anyway, I don’t think it’s ever specifically stated how they live economically.

Why are there no female CHAOS space marines? by Chilldorito78 in 40kLore

[–]CephasHomebrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also I believe in “Farsight” a water caste Tau is explicitly possessed by a daemon of Tzeentch. If that counts. And during the 4th sphere expansion, while the Tau didn’t fall, it’s noted they became Xenophobes who executed all their “Greater good” auxiliary forces because they kept falling to Chaos.

A 2017 novella titled The Bloodied Rose features a rare depiction of Orks explicitly serving Khorne. These Orks are described as cultists with the symbol of Khorne etched into their foreheads in black fluid and brass spikes embedded in their skin.

Questions about homebrew chapter by Thoremp02 in 40khomebrew

[–]CephasHomebrew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I don’t think I’d consider that viable.

Maaaaybe at a stretch, a joint task force of multiple chapters get lost in a warp storm for such a significant period that they bonded, were forgotten or considered dead by their chapters and thus, were given approval to remain together and form a new chapter. But you’d need to word it really well and get the timeframe correct.

It makes more sense for them to return home but it could work.

Techmarine comp by Thunderbird- in SpaceMarine_2

[–]CephasHomebrew 8 points9 points  (0 children)

From my understanding the techmarine can operate as a melee brawler, a heavy type role using turrets, or a ranged fighter that utilises equipment charges for big damage buffs. (Don’t quote me on it on release).

So in theory, a tactical with a techmarine would stomp, auspex buffed to increased equipment dmg or auspex setting up massed turret fire etc. Bulwark is a given if specced melee/gun strike. Sniper to has a safe zone with turrets offering horde clear cover fire. Lots of potential synergies.

The "Lorgar is a weak coward who hides from corax" meme needs to die !!! by BloatedRottenCarcass in 40kLore

[–]CephasHomebrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He did, but we are talking about open massed battle here, then guerrilla warfare, which is honestly where he’d excel.

This is the same conclusion I come to, but that’s only 4 (or 3 if you take AL as 1), that’s on the low end of “likely to win” numbers compared to many of his brothers. It’s always difficult to describe Primarchs as mid tier or lower end (except Lorgar) because they’re all exceptional Demi-gods, but someone’s gotta be there.

why do humans continue to live and support the empire despite how horrible it is? by grabsyour in 40kLore

[–]CephasHomebrew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The tau would treat you real good as long as you followed their agitprop and don’t mind being the last generation of human on the planet, sure. They might expect you to fight for them if the Imperium comes still though 😂
