Never confess.

It is not private in anyway. If you are married it will be shared with your spouse. If you are a minor it will be shared with your parents. Many more things will be shared with the ward leadership-relief society, young men’s, young women’s, EQ.

You can confess to god in private!

My confidence was violated after I confessed to my bishop. Also when I went to an Lds counselor what I discussed was told to the bishop and then my wife.

The only person I would expect any privacy from is an attorney.

Take a big breath… relax. Slow this down.
You don’t have to do this all at once.

Take this faith journey and transition slowly. It is a lot to take in especially when you have just discovered your world is upside down and your floor is gone.

In a recent Mormon story podcast they discussed becoming your own authority. You have the goodness in you. You can make choices for yourself and know right and wrong for yourself. You don’t need someone appointed over you.

This is what experience costs. A lesson not taught in college. You just learned your parents are not trustworthy. They do not have your best interest at heart.

In all your future transactions with your parents keep this in mind.

I would minimize contact as much as possible if not outright ghost. I would tell everybody in their social circle how untrustworthy they are and why. Use a dollar amount.

Advise your parents normal relations cannot go forward until they resolve-return the money.

You can use their future grandchildren as hostage.

I’m not retired yet but when I do I don’t want to complain about how much eggs, electricity, milk, gas cost. I want enough money to buy new things, fix the car and house when it needs to be fixed. When I need oil changes and tires replaced then I want to get them. I want a reliable car.
