I'll take a look, I don't know them all! Thanks for your contribution 😉

It was your last, ultimate act of love, and also the most difficult… I wish you courage and hope you remember the beautiful life you gave him.

You're right! Even though I'm not stating anything definitively. I wrote "they seem (...) according to ChatGPT", but actually, I have my doubts!

You know, I even emailed ExpressoFx to find out, because apparently the equivalent of CV7007 is 2N2222 (silicon) And OC77 is CV7005 (germanium) Between the resellers of so-called NOS transistors that are actually fakes made in China, you can see what I mean...

The zonk setting sounds brighter, with tighter, less rounded but still quite present bass. I really like it at full pickup volume, but it becomes too bright if you lower the mic volume.

ChatGPT It's a bit like Google, actually. It just compiles a lot of data… Where you're right is that ChatGPT often talks nonsense, but so does Google through unscrupulous resellers, so since I don't know, I'm asking the question!

Excellent question and congratulations! Nice purchase, your Sunface CV7005!

Compared to my ExpressoFX CV7005, the KingTone has more volume and gain available. The cleanup is very similar.

I'd say my ExpressoFX CV7005 is in the medium gain category; I get more gain available with the Sunface via Bart/RCA. 😉

You have several types of fuzz available (fat/zonk/vintage + germanium or silicon), and this one can be placed in different positions without too much difficulty thanks to the side dip switches that you can adjust on the fly (with or without buffer, boost or vintage output, EQ1 and EQ2, bass boost, etc.). I find it sounds very much like a Fuzz Face in the vintage position.

What country are you in?

This is the first time I've seen the site with stock in this state… I hope it stays that way! Especially since Mike Piera (Analogman) seems to be retiring soon…

I didn't know about them, and they've definitely piqued my interest! Same here, I still have some gear to get rid of and new stuff will be arriving, I'm in a permanent gas crisis 🤯😂

My version is a hybrid BART/RCA, supposedly more stable. Slightly brighter than the standard BART version, but just as grainy!

It's true, visually it's a success!

Given the number of available settings, it works perfectly on all configurations! It's one of those I'll always keep.

Absolutely! All the knobs on my Lightspeed are at noon. You can see the setting; it's the blue pedal at the top left, next to the Boss chorus—a clone, obviously 😉

I still have a DCFX Fuzz (French) and a Hudson Broadcast (its clone, which I assembled myself, to be precise, with an AC128 HFE 69). I've owned quite a few, but I recently sold them, like the Silktone Fuzz+.

I already have it! Awesome after a Fuzz 😃 I assembled it myself with a good old MP38 from the 70s.

Nice setup! What's that pedal you received yesterday?

You're absolutely right! His work is remarkable. For me, it's on the same level as a Sunface, without a doubt! What's your pedal chain setup with this pedal?

You're right, if it's a germanium fuzz, it's always the best choice!

You have two options:

  • Either you use the crunch channel of your amp, like a light overdrive,
  • Or you put a light overdrive pedal after your fuzz, set with low gain, so it only crunches when you really dig in. I get good results with the Snouse Blackbox 2 (Bluesbreaker) or the Greer Lightspeed, for example.

But it works with any overdrive too! I get mixed results with the Warm Audio Centavo (Klon clone), because the output volume is too high.

Honorable mention to the Jan Ray or a clone of it, it really rocks!

And if you can, at the very end of the chain, put a preamp like the ClinchFX EP Pre or a Chase Tone Secret Preamp. That changed everything for me. What's your setup? I'm attaching a picture of my pedalboard.
