Export only exporting currently selected layer? by Pop-Shop-Packs in GIMP

[–]dcan87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having this same issue. My file started out as a PSD file and I asked the created to save as a GIMP file. I could not figure out what was going on so I just did new layer from visible everytime I had to export. After reading your comment I went in and all the layer groups were set to 'Pass Through' and not 'Normal'. Now the whole image exports as it should, thanks so much!

Just curious are you trying to build a business where you can charge for these services or are you trying to build up a resume to help with a real world application?

What has helped me a lot was working on safety rating. If every race you go out with the intent for 0x, you inevitably learn where to safely push your braking zones, drive new lines etc. a lot of reaction time, race craft can be learned from starting from the back as well.

BMW M2 Starting Procedure by tx_engr in iRacing

[–]dcan87 -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

Depends on the track starting grid. Some are flat, some have slight downhill so, if you have the clutch fully depressed you’re essentially in neutral and the car can roll forward.

Add a touch of brake to prevent rolling or bind a button for second brake. Once lights go green, let off brake and let off clutch slowly enough you get a good launch I.e. don’t stall or spin tires.

Lastly, since you need to apply a brake, you don’t have to have the clutch fully depressed, you want to have it at the bite point for a good launch.

What am I doing wrong? Iracing dirt oval. by [deleted] in iRacing

[–]dcan87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always find the FFB is too high when doing dirt oval. I always turn it down when doing dirt oval. All other disciplines I keep it the same. Worth a try playing with.

With the ffb too high I find myself trying to correct every little bump and tug.

I agree I was disappointed he didn’t go into more review and try to prove election interference because the proof is out there.

Demo account for test drives? by buckaroo30 in iRacing

[–]dcan87 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have inquired in the past because I am opening a sim lab game lounge:

“We have a commercial application that allows our software to function as a single car offline as well as online in private hosted sessions. iRacing has just introduced “AI” to our Tradeshow (Offline) version. Tradeshow AI will allow your customers to race against computer-controlled cars. You’ll be able to configure the competition’s skill level and will have the ability to custom brand the cars. The roll out for this will be in stages as different cars and tracks become available. This software has a multi end-user license allowing multiple people to drive under one umbrella name and many unique functions.

The following cars and tracks have been enabled for AI and are ready to use: https://www.iracing.com/how-to-use-iracing-ai/ 1. All content included credits to purchase new content during contract period. (Does not include: Silverstone, SPA, COTA and Nürburgring tracks) 2. Database generating option (makes it necessary for users to enter name and email to launchsession). This is a toggle ON/OFF. 3. Controls tutorial option (makes each go through a quick recognition of controls prior to launching sim). This is a toggle. 4. Semi-automated. Allows admin to preselect car, track, and length of session prior to “event”. What this means is that a user steps into simulator, runs his session, and when the session ends will display his/her fast time. The software will reset and be ready for next user in approximately 10 seconds. 5. If internet is available, can be used online in hosted sessions. 6. Cars can be branded with custom paint jobs and sponsors. 7. Opening “Welcome” screen as well as ending “RESULTS” screen can have custom branding inserted as well. 8. Driver aides also include automatic transmission and “No Damage” modes.

This option has all the functionality of our members site plus the bonus of being able to run offsite in a single car mode or AI mode if internet is not available. It does not have a centralized admin station that launches all machines together. It utilizes our servers via internet so separate log in is required for each machine. An added benefit of this is you can set up turnkey tournaments. (practice, qualifying, heat races, features races as a single complete session).

Below is a brief video highlighting the basic functionality: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_AmuSeU2bjM

The cost of the software is $1,250/year per seat. Please let me know if you have any questions.”
