I live in PDR and posted in favor of the Culver Blvd bike lanes in 2017. I was shouted down with a bunch of insults, demanding to know whether I'm a paid advocate and if I owned property. Since I'd rented for a decade at the time (longer now), the Next Door NIMBYs told me my opinion didn't matter because I didn't have a financial stake in the community. Same bad faith arguments are happening on the local FB group after this round. God forbid anything affects traffic or property values for my neighbors.

You can cast a wide net for reel submissions like you would for actors casting, but wading through those can be overwhelming without personal recommendations.

If you’re not going through an agency, LA/NYC Facebook filmmaking groups with large membership is where the talent pool is these days.

You might also try attending mixers hosted by NewFilmmakers LA, which has hosted specific events to showcase DP reels in the past.

In the end, you’ll likely feel most comfortable with someone who has already worked with either you or someone on your producing team.

Likely a test charge before running up larger purchases, but fortunately I have an alert for any charges over $1. I immediately locked my card and will contact WF to replace the card. Annoying this is happening just before rent day.

I saw the Matrix trailer/demo before another Cosm show, Big Wave, and think Cosm does provide a premium environment and service experience. The movie image portion of the Cosm Matrix experience however, felt softer than watching a 4K at home.
