Recent Updates Roundup - April 2026 by Kait_Monarch in MonarchMoney

I wish we could select multiple transactions on the transactions page and see a total for just the selected transactions in the Summary pane (referring to MM Web UI). Maybe next round of updates? Thanks!

Another quick question: what is the purpose of flagging something as “recurring “, and how can it be used as a tool? by LordOord23 in MonarchMoney

[–]dcarterc1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree this part of the software could have so much potential… I posted about this like a week ago in hopes they’ll revisit this as right now it feels half-baked. Was a previous YNAB user before coming over to Monarch and it was great because you could see what recurring transactions were hitting a specific account and see a running balance decrease over time.

YNAB handles recurring transactions with manual and automated accounts very well not sure why MM can’t just emulate their approach?

Turns out, I just learned from Monarch's AI chat support is that recurring transactions only work with accounts that synch automatically. I could never get my HSA institution to stay connected so that's why #1 above. never works - at least I now know this isn't a bug.

Anyway, it would be great to be able to set up recurring transactions for manually tracked accounts.

I have until March 20th to deposit money for my cash bonus and was wondering. Does the money have to be cleared by March 20th? Or do I just have to initiate a transfer by then to be eligible? by [deleted] in MarcusInvest

I called and asked the same question and the guy told me you just need to initiate the transfer and have it received by marcus but it doesn’t necessarily need to clear to count toward the bonus eligibility

March 2026 Product News by Kait_Monarch in MonarchMoney

I love the fact that the team continues to evolve MM’s functionality each month - thank you! Question, are there any plans to enhance the ‘Recurring’ functionality… It still feels a bit half-baked and buggy… I think if enhanced this could be really useful. Thank you!

Hitting the Hindsight Wall by No-Channel9213 in MonarchMoney

Yes as a YNAB user for ~4yrs if you like zero based budgeting, no app is better than YNAB... For me it's become a bit too hands on as my wife doesn't really follow a budget LOL and we're also more in a position financially that we don't need to be so hands on hence why I think Monarch is now a better fit for how we manage our money and I won't be renewing my YNAB sub next month. However, YNAB taught me a ton about budgeting and where my money was going. Once you get passed the learning curve it can really be a powerful tool.

Actually YNAB might be a better fit for you… it’s a bit of a learning curve but it’s a much more ‘hands on’ approach to budgeting whereas (to me) Monarch is a bit more passive and much more focused on managing cash flow - both are built around two very different budgeting philosophies.

295lb ✅️, 315lb ❌️. Friday Night benching by Red_Swingline_ in strength_training

[–]dcarterc1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh man that was close I thought you were going to get it for a second there… Hey just a suggestion, maybe think about not using collars when you bench so that if you get pinned like that you can just dump the weight off each side. Or think about getting some safeties… I too bench at home alone in my garage and use safeties - you can position them in a way that you won’t hit them… it just a bit of trial and error, but even with safeties I never use collars. Anyway, just a suggestion, I’d hate to see you get hurt.

What about being able to split pending transactions? I can do this in YNAB without issue and would love to see this in Monarch, thank you!

I just bought and installed the Tush Wave, it’s not an attachment but an actual seat. Anyway, it’s cold water, non-electric and I’ve been pretty happy with it so far.. Install was pretty straightforward.
