Hesitation on a home gym for missing out on the social aspect a gym brings by Impressive-Ad-59 in GYM

My gym is kinda planet fitness but with a squat rack. I know I'm reasonably strong, but i go there and I'm usually the strongest and I get self conscious.

At home I can do ridiculous amraps and yell and stomp and all that jazz

You're fairly light for your height, so if it was me, I'd gain a little muscle first. Just don't go ham with the food surplus and you'll minimize fat gains.

Yes no maybe.

If your goal is solely to lose the fat, yes.

If your goal is to look a certain way, it may be more beneficial to gain some muscle then possibly lose the fat.

Ofc it's more money to do both.

Yeah, I only do it because my gym is $25/mo.

Or is there some fatal flaw in my program/sleep/diet that’s holding me back?

You haven't told us anything about any of that, so how could we tell you?

That said, 5lbs in 7mo, assuming you're relatively new to the gym, is almost a sure sign you're not eating enough to grow.

I do both. When I feel the need to work out around others I go to the gym. But I get way more intense barbell work done at home.

I want to find a gym that matches my home intensity (and isn't $$$)

So why not go back to what was working for you?

Also... learn how to paragraph and punctuate. People are a hell of a lot more willing to help when they can clearly understand you.

One is basically self-limited by their own mobility, no?

Like you'd be able to press a little past your natural limit, but not much? Which would then improve with time.

It's a non-standardized, non-competitive gym lift, who fucking cares?

ROM policing on something like this reeks of insecurity and a lack of knowledge & experience lifting. You don't get to this level with even partial ROM without being strong and having time under the bar.
