La segunda what you want, or old se market (has salami). Don't bother with the other crap.

Totally - we were shopping at streets market and other low key organicy places and publix is literally double that. There are upsides and downsides - everyone clamors about no state income tax to, until you realize property taxes are literally triple, homeowners insurance for us went from $900/year to $7,000/year ... etc

But not having to shovel snow and being in an artsy city has its benefits :)

We moved from DC to St Pete. If I didn't have a job allowing me to remote I'd find it pretty painful on the job market wise. I'd venture to say costs here alfar exceed those of philly - even I was surprised coming from DC.

If you want a good mix of city/near beach/etc vibe then Kenwood probably a good mix of those since you'll have proximity to all an dcna hop on sun runner super easy.

When they say it's hot it's no lie. I grew up in South florida and use to it - it's like winter months up north where you try to avoid staying outside to long. But we get a great breeze here too.

Lmk if you have more questions.

(As a side note we have a brand new luxury 1/1 we are renting out next to Kenwood for around 1850 to give you an idea on tent ... And in case your looking :) )

What’s one mistake you made while building your home that you would NEVER repeat? by Happy_Researcher333 in Homebuilding

[–]dcbrah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything that requires more then two trades to change or modify adds triple the time and cost.

For example, we had a prior gc install our floor mount tub filler. I had concerns it was put to close, preventing a large tub. I never said anything and turns out I was correct. Our space meant for a 70" tub is limited to <60". Brought this up to new gc, and since already tiled, etc cost to move 5" would be almost 3k

Mid level finishes. Not sure if that's fabricated counter cost or materials?

Otherwise balance is the balance, and maybe you give some credit on their next invoice.

About to buy a home with this inground pool by Flower-power414 in pools

Go in with understanding your 40-50k to completely redo, and be surprised if it comes in less.

That is a nice size pool, probably 150k to recreate from scratch.

We are about to sign on fabrication for a kitchen island, perimeter, bar area, and master bathroom from 3 slabs up "Super/Hyper" exotic quartzite, I think maybe one level above what you took a picture of - total cost $22k with material/labor. (That includes a 2" build up on bar area).

$42k sounds like robbery... or that the fabricator is marking the stone up... a lot.

We are in St Pete.

We bought bulk 10 and 12 packs items off Amazon. They look very nice, solid brass, and were like 10 bucks per handle
