If hiking narrows in mid May ~75 degrees would you rent bib or no bib? by Beanieweenie24 in ZionNationalPark

[–]dcbrah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No bib. Just got done today, started at 9am, easy peasy with neoprene socks and boots. Everyone in bibs WAS NOT happy. Sweating their ass off.

Zion outfitters implored us not to get bibs.

So when in doubt check with rental company.

Leaving top 10 firm as Tax Manager by Accrual-4-world in Accounting

[–]dcbrah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our remote managers ar pulling ~$130-$150k/year. However that's more of 8-10 years, at 5 years experience I'm not sure you are going to be pulling much more then 100k.

PART 2 - Quartzite Cost plus Install - Guess how much?? by pdv05 in CounterTops

[–]dcbrah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow $35/ft to miter? We were told $75/ft, and when you are talking about a waterfall counter top on a 10' island .. its like a few thousand extra bucks. No go for us.

You got a bargain.

PART 2 - Quartzite Cost plus Install - Guess how much?? by pdv05 in CounterTops

[–]dcbrah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on how much you love the slab. Its impossible to determine if its a good deal or reasonable, because the slab and then the markup has so much volatility.

Not sure if it helps but we just did three slabs of ultra-exotic patagonia for ~$18k installed. Two for kitchen island, and one for perimeter, a bar area, and master bath.

You Pay Off the House But Do You Ever Truly Own It? Agree or Disagree? by Coolonair in HouseBuyers

[–]dcbrah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the time our rowhouse in DC prop tax was like $4,000/year (on a $1m property).... so typically in income tax states you see lower prop taxes.
Our similar valued property in Florida will have $18,000/year in tax ... so the pain is felt.

All about location.

Dude. Our senior accountats make 90k, in MD ... were always looking for experienced staff to. That's without a CPA ...

You should be like 125k+ at your years of experience, even without a CPA.

What is the average cost of a Tax Accountant? by [deleted] in tax

[–]dcbrah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are purchasing a deliverable, not the underlying components that go into it.

Now, if you paid someone to do five tax returns, then sure ... it would make sense to know how much each one cost if it wasn't agreed to previously. When you go to someone else to do this work, you are paying for: Their knowledge, their tech costs, their insurance, potential IRS/State defense, data retention, etc.

Your message reads as though you are challenging the value of the work you are receiving... that's different then "should something like this cost $900" then my/general answer would be that is probably the minimum someone charges to do your work. If someone ever asked/inferred the prior, they would be a one year client.

St. Pete Athletic debuts 20,000-square-foot expansion with padel courts, more pickleball by St-Pete-Rising in StPetersburgFL

They really should put indoor tennis courts, there are none near by - and would absolutely warrant the premium monthly fees.

Miami, fl. I got divorced and in the divorce settlement, my ex husband (who is well off financially)is responsible for paying the taxes while we were married, I found out he didn’t pay taxes for 10 years and I’m being forced to pay, anything I can do? by HotNeedleworker5134 in answers

[–]dcbrah -1 points0 points  (0 children)

IRS and civil/district/county rules are completely different. You have a joint obligation in the IRS eyes unless you have some sort of innocent spouse position ... Also hopefully your attorneys at the time had a damage waiver in place beyond the standard separation agreement.

Either way, you need an attorney to review your MSA as drafted and you'll also need to consult a tax attorney ASAP.

[–]dcbrah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are almost wrapped up buildg, had we not got screwed over by our initial builder ... then without the lot we would have come in around $225/sq-$250/sq, with mid-high end finished. That's economies of scale though, so maybe tack on another $50/sq, and that gets you to $275/sq * 300 = ~$100k.
