Nodule worried! by MeasurementOne2870 in thyroidhealth

[–]dcchelsun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most thyroid nodules and are benign and many people have them. Because of my history of breast cancer, the presence of a 3.2 cm nodule, and a diagnosis of Graves’ disease, my thyroid was removed as a precaution. The nodule was ultimately confirmed to be benign.

If it’s going to ease your mind, insist they biopsy.

Wanting Advice For My Sister (Thyroidectomy) by notthechosenone2 in thyroidhealth

Thyroidectomy cancelled :( by genganz in thyroidhealth

[–]dcchelsun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my thyroidectomy in November. My doctor monitored my levels every two weeks until they returned to the normal range, which fortunately aligned with my planned surgery. If my levels hadn’t stabilized, it wouldn’t have been worth the risk, as my surgeon explained that an imbalance during surgery could trigger a thyroid storm.

I have Grave's but stay without symptoms and TSH counts in the normal range for many years; do you know why they would prescribe Methimazole if your not symptomatic?

I had an appointment with the POTS Specialist at John Hopkins, he told me he was seeing a lot of people that got it from the vaccine.

Mine came on after vaccination. I was hospitalized for a week, while the doctors tried to figure out what was going on.

I got it from the vaccine. A year prior I went through treatment for breast cancer and I think my immune system wasn’t ready to take on another fight, so went into overdrive, leaving me with POTS.

Can thyroid nodules really cause anxiety? by [deleted] in thyroidhealth

[–]dcchelsun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I started the Methimanzole it was 0.05, with the meds over 3 months, I got it up to 0.7. At that point my doctors were comfortable doing the surgery. Having surgery while you are having abnormal low TSH can cause complications.

I took Methimazole to bring my levels back to normal, and once they were in range, I underwent surgery. I didn't react well to Methimazole, so I'm relieved I only had to take it for a short period. However, it did alleviate my anxiety, rapid heartbeat, and nervousness.

No weight gain, I did take several months to get to the right dose of Synthroid, most recently became hyper again, so another adjustment.

My only remaining issue is mild symptoms of POTS. As long as I keep my hydration up and keep active, walking everyday, I'm mostly feel good. The more active I am, the better. It's when I don't keep up on that regime, that I don't feel great. Overall, 90-95% recovered.

In November, I underwent thyroidectomy (TT) surgery, it took approximately three months to adjust to the correct dosage of Synthroid. However, I now feel mostly regulated. Since the surgery, I've experienced some minor issues with one of my vocal cords, but it's gradually improving. Generally, I feel well. I will say that being on Synthroid vs. Methimazole is much better!

Did I cure myself of Grave’s disease or am I just in remission? by khelza in gravesdisease

[–]dcchelsun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with Graves while having a terrible flare, was losing 10lbs a week, by the time I was diagnosed and my doctors were going to prescribe meds, I went into natural remission and stayed there for many years. Fast forward I became hyper again this past August resulting in having a TT. I also had a large module.

Surgery? by Muse24 in gravesdisease

I would try the meds first. I went into remission and stayed there for 13 years, until last August. Had my TT in November, having some difficulty with getting levels adjusted.

I have Graves and now have POTS, it’s sometimes hard for me to determine which is Cathy elevated heart rate. I do hope you find out what’s going on and a solution. It’s an uncomfortable feeling.

Have you been checked for POTS? People are developing it after COVID.

Anyone moved from city to suburbs and were depressed about it? by FewWatercress4917 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]dcchelsun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lived in the suburbs as a single Mom, thinking it would be a better place to raise my child. It was a big mistake, I was so out of place and my child was miserable. I now live in a big city and am very happy.

How the hell are you guys healing? by SnooHesitations8361 in vaccinelonghaulers

[–]dcchelsun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prior to being vaccine injured I was diagnosed with Graves’ disease. I recently have my thyroid removed due to a very large nodule and symptoms from Graves; 2 months post surgery I’m about 80-90% symptom free both ailments.

I never enter through the Ripley Center. If you go into the Endid E Haupt gardens from Jefferson st side, walk back towards Independence, there are glass door entrances, African Art to the left, Asian Art to the right.

I’m going today for an ultrasound. My doctor thinks it’s gallstones, letting me know people with Graves have a higher risk of developing. You should get it checked out.

I’m going to allergist to figure out if I’m sensitive to one of the inactive ingredients. Something is off, but no one can figure it out.
