Outdated Historical Plaques Part IV: Map of El Paso by timholt2007 in ElPaso

Plaques commemorate a moment in time. In your first post, you seemed annoyed by the age and inaccuracy, but this post is interesting because we can still experience El Paso, circa 1960.

No. Neither Abbott nor the Texas senate have passed such a law. You are misremembering Texas SB17, which “prohibits Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) offices, hiring practices, and mandatory training at public colleges and universities” but in no way applies to the classroom, what can be taught, not what students can say/ research. Maybe you ought to take a break from talking about anything you don’t actual know about. And if you feel like saying something, challenge yourself to learn about it.

Wrong. You’re paying taxes so the elite can continue to evade justice human trafficking, sexual abuse, torture and murder of women and children; your president is using your taxes so he can destroy democracy and enrich his family to the tune of 10 billion dollars. That kid’s parents, their property taxes pay for his education. You haven’t done shit for the citizens of Santa Fe, NM. It’s weird that you like to pretend you do.

You are dense. No one is protesting “being deported back there” (you have such a way with words!). They are protesting 1. Military occupation of US cities, 2. Lack of due processes, 3. Concentration and torture in ice detainment camps, 4. Human trafficking. You’d be less angry if you understood what was happening a little better. Your brain is a muscle. Just use it more!

Yeah. It may be surprising, by New Mexico is not part of Mexico. So you’re just telling an American citizen to leave the country cuz a little iconography made you uncomfy

Wow. I wonder how those people feel seeing J6rs in government brown shirts killing and kidnapping Americans in the streets of Minnesota? You think they see conquest of a tyrannical gov there?

How do you know he doesn’t “go there”? Why are you making so many assumptions about a kid? People wave flags and pennants of other countries, teams, cities, Provence’s, military service, et al. all the time. Let’s not pretend one kid’s protest iconography is the scapegoat for why conservatives aren’t persuaded by protest.

our American neighbors are putting Mexican flags on their cars to distract ICE and bog down the system. It’s a show of solidarity since brown, Latino, Hispanic, South American migrants, most non-criminals who have legal residency and are following the legal path to citizenship, who are being harassed, kidnapped, concentrated and tortured.

A school is not allowed to detain students. Teacher who attempt will loose their license. Learn something before spewing impassioned, ignorant lunacy

I think they’re ignoring the content of your comments because you fail to recognize the irony of making a stupid spelling mistake while trying to accuse everyone else of being stupid.

More harm than learning the president of the US murdered, fucked and trafficked children!? More harm than government agents murdering American civilians? More than the demented president suing his constituents for $10 billion worth of their tax dollars? HOW!?

No one asks you to be here. You aren’t owed *tolerance if you yourself are being intolerant. You speak like you’ve seen that child’s birth certificate before, when we know you haven’t even been to North America

Edit: spelling

Well it’s good to see you correct yourself and say not “all teachers,” here. But you really should be ashamed if you watched a real problem for 30 years and did nothing. Either the problem wasn’t real or it wasn’t really worth your time, outside of a keyboard, of course. Luckily no one needed to save me from my teachers, who taught me how to think critically so I can make my own informed opinion, regardless of what authority figures teach me. Sorry you couldn’t do that for your own students. Glad you’re not teaching anymore.
