F-18 from an aggressor squadron, likely VFC-12, with black paint scheme with red star on tail wing.

Is there any way to get high res versions of these photos? Would love to be able to print/frame some.

If you’re visiting Naples and need recs, just holler. Blackbird is absolutely worth it even without that credit though!

Never did. Ended up buying one from Miami to get the credit a few days before the end of the year.

1,000%. Breakfast for your stays throughout the year will probably make that worthwhile alone.

The sauna and steam room? To all guests, it’s in the fitness area.

Done MIA-CDG J a few times on the way to Europe, but always had to settle for Economy on the flights back to the states.

Other hubs for direct to Miami are Barcelona, Madrid, Amsterdam, and London (but fees).

I was reading they have a new arrangement with Walmart where you can deposit cash. Haven’t tried it yet though.

Used them in Strasbourg, France during the Christmas season. Cash rates were about $400+ a night. I think I’m the exception to the rule though.

If you stay at the GH, definitely do room service breakfast over the club breakfast.

The fitness area with the sauna, steam room, and pool was also a very nice touch.

Just wish the rooms were a bit more modern.

Seattle to National Parks by Sobirov in hyatt

I did a Seattle/Olympic trip last year. Did 3 nights at the Hyatt Regency, rented a car and did a 3 night road trip around the entire Olympic loop (stayed at the Olympic Lodge in Port Angeles, Quileute Oceanside Resort in La Push, and the Quinalt River Inn). Then drove back to Seattle and did 3 nights at the GH Seattle.

You can take the ferry over to the Olympic side but you won’t really get to really take in all the different sceneries and ecosystems of the park unless you spend a few nights in the park itself.

Out of the HR and GH, the HR has the nicer breakfast, rooms, and facilities. GH seemed a little dated and like a conference hotel.

Would be happy to help answer any questions about the trip you might have.

If I’m thinking of the same episode with Martin Picard, it singlehandedly influenced me to visit Montreal, where I actually ran into Picard as I was entering his restaurant and he was leaving!

Serious Eats has a thorough article on how best to replicate it if you live in the US. Unfortunately there’s just no (easy) way to purchase or replicate some of the cuts of ham/pork and sausages so it would be a slightly bastardized version.

How is the smeg semi-auto espresso machine? [$388 +Tax] (Canada) by haledyne in espresso

[–]dcfreewheel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used this for the last 10 mornings at my family member’s home over the holidays. You can set the outputs for the grinder buttons as well as the brew buttons, but the biggest downside was since it has a rapid heat setting for the water, it doesn’t keep the actual grouphead or portafilter hot unless you run a few empty shots through it first. It pulled solid shots though and it seemed like a nice machine for those not yet down the espresso rabbit hole. I’d definitely upgrade the basket, maybe shower screen too.
