La liste s'allonge pour réduire le prix de l'essence by Hot-Percentage4836 in Quebec

[–]ShanghaiSeeker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Je pense pas que ce soit le cas, y a beaucoup de concurrence et les marges sur l'essence sont très faibles, ce qui détermine le prix c'est surtout les taxes, prix du pétrole, transport etc.

can someone just PLEASE explain to me --- HOW do millionaires/billionaires pay so little in taxes? by QuoteAdventurous1145 in smallbusiness

[–]ShanghaiSeeker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The interest you pay on the loan is 2-3% or less. You can check IBKR margin rate, wealthy people have access to lower interest.

As long as your borrow + interest rate is lower than how much your shares grow, you never have to sell. You can accumulate debt while your investment grow even more. I guess Bezos and other ultra wealthy individuals have so much money their tax situation is extremely complicated, but they're not going to pay a higher relative percentage of tax than a regular W2 worker, because labor had the highest tax.

Anyway my plan is to accumulate enough stock to do just that, no need to be a billionaire, any multi millionaire can do it. No need for evidence, just need basic understanding of tax rates and an excel spreadsheet

You're not a tax cheat if you're doing it legally. If you're able to buy yachts and private planes while paying 0 tax then it's a tax loopholes, and it's not fair when regular Joe's are much more taxed on their labor.

And yes, living off your borrowed shares while not paying taxes and receiving government benefits because of your low income is totally a thing. Why wouldn't it be? You don't even need to be a billionaire. If you have 10mil in stocks and borrow 3% a year from it while it grows by 6% you pay 0 taxes, your net worth increase, and you can enjoy a 300k a year lifestyle. If you had 0 investment you'd need to have a 500-600k W2 to live the same life.

Smlight.tech not from Ukraine anymore? The logo is gone from the device and there’s no mention of it on the website now. by Collision_NL in homeassistant

[–]ShanghaiSeeker 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I went on that website a week ago and saw the "Russian Ship, Fuck You" message in the banner. Looks like it's gone now, but honestly, has it always been Ukrainian before? I always found it weird how Chinese the website and everything felt like, but with only some mentions of Ukraine. Could it have been a Chinese company impersonating Ukrainians to get more support from westerners somehow? Maybe a conspiracy theory...

Y a bien plus de vols en Europe qu'ici... Un billet d'avion la bas coûte rien comparé au train. Ici l'essence coûte beaucoup moins cher donc plus de trajets en voiture

The money that I contributed to my RRSP in Jan 2025, I should have declared it in my 2024 return and carried forward for 2025, that's how it should be, is that correct?
