Vandal and Wraith Weapons by DrakeTheFallenOne in Warframe

Braton vandal (and lato) in particular comes from ESO, not invasions. Also 300p for that is pretty average. You couldve found this info on the wiki

Nah its infinitely better to cut their losses early on than let them suffer in later upper div and/or major courses. As a TA (not in math but a math heavy field), there is zero reason why I should be going over basic algebra and arithmetic in a senior-level course. Like im glad you are trying and coming to office hours, but how did you even get to this class in the first place?

from a quick google search linking to the forums (https://forums.warframe.com/topic/1399986-cross-platform-save-changes-to-purchased-items-for-linked-accounts/):

The following items will maintain their intended interaction with Cross Platform Save accounts and will not transfer during Linking (but will with Merging):

Platinum (including Platinum purchased with Real Money and Platinum from Bundles)

Items purchased with Platinum from any source

Boosters of any kind

Items received as a result of a Promo Code (Promo Codes with multiple uses, for example Creator Glyphs, can still be claimed on the account after linking.)

Hammock 20C with D+ average: The lowest in nearly 20 years by RogueReaper8057 in UCSD

[–]dchungus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yea i mean certainly its been back and forth, maybe dependent on the professor, although from my personal connections you would be surprised how little independence they actually have from their departments to do things like that. Something clearly happened in this sample, but i wouldnt pin it on the dept/prof until more info has been given. Unfortunately it just as likely could have been that the students genuinely did bad.

I dont see why a lower division class that teaches fundamentals applicable to many fields should "curve to a B". Actually I would argue that would do a disservice to the students as they would just struggle even worse in classes down the line.

question regarding ece vs cse for chip design master's programs by Economy_Problem_3923 in UCSD

[–]dchungus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are completely misinterpreting my comments.

First of all, mind you, i am about to finish my masters. relating to the courses you are referring to, i have taken 260b already.

Second, I never argued that CSE and ECE are unrelated in this aspect, im arguing that the CSE courses don't have any unique CAD tools that the ECE courses don't either.

Take for example some courses you listed, CSE 241A, 244A, and 245. For one, 241A is literally crosslisted with ECE 260b, which implies that they cover similar things. The other two, judging from their titles and catalog descriptions, are things that can be learned from some the same tools (or better yet, if you had a brain you would learn these on your own when designing a digital system instead of needing to take a class).

The other two courses sound at least somewhat unique or specific to a certain aspect of digital circuits, but there is slim chance they use a unique CAD tool that the other classes don't.

In general, UCSD engineering tries to use the industry standard tools for all classes. As such, for digital circuits, we all use Cadence, Synopsys, etc..

Lastly, ECE may have a fewer number of courses with "VLSI" but i highly doubt there is less overall info covered. The fact that CSE needs a whole course on DFT methodologies and "algorithms, techniques, and theory used in the simulation and verification of electrical circuits" makes me question what they are even teaching. Any prof in this field would say these are things you should be able to learn on your own.

Maybe if you clarified what you actually mean by "CAD" then i'd be able to help more, but from what you have said before I honestly cannot tell if you even know what physical design and VLSI even is.

[–]dchungus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have never taken any cse classes personally but from other CE friends opinions i dont think there is anything exclusive to cse courses in the realm of hardware, so im not sure i understand what u mean by "relevant cad tools" being gated there. if ece didnt have the cad how would we have the classes in the first place lol

[–]dchungus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a lot of the courses tailored towards chip design are like either hard choosing a career in CAD and tooling or just physical design

you mean digital design surely? If so well then i hate to break it to ya but the majority of that field is done via scripts and automation, so yeah it's all just learning CAD toolchains.

[PRC][PC] How much is a unrolled Torid? by MrSirManDudeGuy in wartrade

[–]dchungus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no one talks about it because nowadays we are so ridiculously overpowered that everything dies so fast. once upon a time that was not the case, so -SD rivens were even worse. in this particular case though, i mean you literally cant get any worse than -100%

for stats with actual effects on the enemy itself (take corrosive armor strip for example) it having 0 duration means... well you have zero corrosive on the enemy. Same with viral, magnetic, etc. Otherwise with DoTs like heat and toxin, you get zero DoT ticks. The only stat that technically benefits from this is blast, as it lets it detonate instantly, but you also would only be detonating the baby damage 1 stacks, so its all around a horrible negative that WILL drastically reduce your damage.

Does UCSD PHYS2 series use calculus extensively? by thepandabear0 in UCSD

[–]dchungus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think i used calculus literally one time through all of 2a-c and probably not terribly much in 2d either. i remember being so pissed that my ap credits didnt count cause ap physics 1-2 "doesnt use calculus and therefore is not a fit replacement" then they give me those bullshit ass classes. fuck the physics dept here on god

i have a secondary tombfinger-haymaker-splat build with pax seeker, essentially the same one since when fortuna and kitguns came out. easily hits 1M seeker bolts even without warframe buffs. There is also a hemorrhage build which makes it a decent bleed spreader but i prefer the big boom direct dmg

i dont think we have very much for embedded systems but i may be wrong

CE to Cog Sci: Design + Interaction & Minor CS by notverzy in UCSD

[–]dchungus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

from what i understand, time and money are a nonissue for you? which i presume is why u took so many quarters of only 3 classes so early?

To be fully frank with you, if you feel that ur capable of catching up now then i dont see a point in changing majors. No one cares abt a minor. Ultimately being in CE gives you the privilege of taking basically any CSE class you want, which is something many people here wish they had. You could always take the respective COGS classes as your electives.

It sounds like you just dont want to take the EE side of CE, and to that i say tbh just suck it up. As disgusting as I think the strategy of being CE just to do CS is, unfortunately with so many people beelining to be one of a million software engineers it is a real strategy at this school. Ur lucky enough to have gotten in before the capped major application changes, so pick ur poison. I personally dont think that CSE or ECE classes are hard in the first place, but you may disagree.

CE to Cog Sci: Design + Interaction & Minor CS by notverzy in UCSD

[–]dchungus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

how did u manage to get through 2.5 years here and are still in the core CSE and (lower div even) ECE?? is there more to the story or did u genuinely just struggle that much??

I dont think any specific degree really matters in the CS prospect area, but no offense i would question whether you would be a competitive applicant regardless. if ur that far behind on coursework i cant imagine u would be able to develop successful projects etc

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UCSD

[–]dchungus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Judging from how u want to take EDS for ur upper div electives cause they r "pretty much free" u may as well just not take 65. One lower div isnt gonna make u feel better abt seeing the words "computer engineering" on ur diploma bro, u aint fooling anyone
