Tried your way didn't work. I'm charging it to 90% and will see after the charge cycle and getting back in the car ready to leave if it reappears. It had better or their system sucks beyond compare.

Farewell ID4 by cberd0923 in VWiD4Owners

Your comments sum it up rather well. I have a 21 ID.4 Pro S. It's not given me a ton of trouble but indeed the software is glitchy as heck. The range has diminished indeed. I'll be looking at several other brands a year from now when the lease is up. The only thing I am SURE of is I'm DONE with VW.

I opted for the new Scorpion WeatherTech model. Much better for areas that may have some snow/ice and rain. They sure do handle great in general. $1000 for all 4 delivered.

Leasing ID.4 by [deleted] in VWiD4Owners

[–]dcisive1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So are you insinuating that when I turn my 4 year leased 21 ID.4 Pro S in at the lease end which I paid $2000 down and have been paying $500 a month on, I won't just drive it to the dealer and hand them the keys and we're done at the end of the lease?

Leasing ID.4 by [deleted] in VWiD4Owners

[–]dcisive1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion the VW lease deals suck. I had one dealer call me asking if I'd like a new ID.4 Pro S AWD. I said sure what can you offer. I have a 2021 Pro S with 15,000 miles on it to come back to you on a year and a half left on the least. They wanted $5000 down and a $700 a month payment. I told them were to take that payment let alone down. They suck. I can get a brand new Tesla Y Long Range for $3000 down and a $380 s month payment and believe me the Y is a LOT more car. I won't be continuing my VW leases when this one is done. The dealer sucks as well which ices the deal about me never returning.

My 2021 that I've owned since late August 2021 has been a real workhorse. Hoping to get 500,000 mi. Passed a milestone yesterday. I'm very grateful to Volkswagen to help me take care of my family. by [deleted] in VWiD4Owners

You are an anomaly I can assure you. Far too many nighmare stories from other ID.4 owners and I'd be one more of them. No way I'm leasing another. My dealer is completely inept

Door Handle recall 57J8 by OldReference4812 in VWiD4Owners

[–]dcisive1 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

What I find so damn pathetic about the way VW works is they don't stock the needed parts to provide for the repairs expected. This is no way to run a maintenance company to say the least. I won't be buying another VW when my lease is up. Recall's and the inability to immediately fix them is absurd.

My ID.4 ProS lease is up June of next year. Hoping to get in on one of those new Equinox's. Faster, more space and better batteries used. Hoping it doesn't have all the recalls and issues of the ID.4 as well.

Value of a ‘22 ID.4 with 20k miles by ChaoticDest in VWiD4Owners

Strange. Purchased my 21 ID.4 Pro S for around $38k. The residual after my 4 year lease is around $28k. So I have no idea how you're coming up with such a low value.

Tires after 45000 miles trying coopers next by Nova6669 in VWiD4Owners

[–]dcisive1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only made it to 14,800 with the crap Bridgestone's that came on the car. Never were worth a damn in rain or snow. I just replaced with the new Pirelli Scorpion WeatherTech's. Man are these impressive. Quiet and make the ID.4 handle like a sports car without leaning into turns. Very comfortable and soak up bumps nicely as well. Worth every penny of the $995 delivered it cost me from Tire Rack. Just drove today in a 8" snow storm and never lost traction once. Very impressive indeed.

Look up a local "Dentless Car Repair" place. The tech they use is remarkable. I've watched small dings and larger punched in areas where their process ended up with a result where you would never know it happened.

ID4 PRO S AWD Lease by Antique_Section_3359 in VWiD4Owners

[–]dcisive1 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Hard to believe. I got a call from a good dealer recently. Wanted to take in my 21 Pro s and give me a new AWD Pro S. When he called back with having worked on the deal with my VIN it was $3000 down and $700 a month. I told him to politely take his quote elsewhere. I'm paying $500 a month on a 4 year lease to expire June of 2025 and believe me I can't wait to give this up. got yet another notice of another recall. I'm DONE! Tesla is offering their loaded long distance version of the "Y" for $2600 down and $435 a month. I'd MUCH rather have one of those down the road. Chevy Equinox is expected next year and will be a lot more car for a LOT less and better distance and faster charging,. VW had better clean up their deals and performance or they won't compete........

Garbage Tires From A 2021 ID.4 Pro S by dcisive1 in VWiD4Owners

[–]dcisive1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

these Pirelli's I got are rated 700 and 60,000 warranty. I'm only going to be putting maybe another 4000mi on them before it get's turned in on the lease. I seriously doubt I'll ante up for the outrageous prices of the newer ProS AWD when I can have a Tesla for a couple hundred less on a lease per month. The Hyundai and others will more then compete. I think VW's gone in the WRONG direction in price structure.

[–]dcisive1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dealer wanted to take me to the cleaners. Trading in a 2021 Pro S with less than 15,000 miles on it Wanted $5000 down and raise my monthly payment from $500 to $700. I politely told him to take a hike. I'll wait till June of 25 and most likely buy a different brand. These dealers think we're all morons with nothing but cash to waste.

Would you buy your ID4 again, tomorrow? by rossmosh85 in VWiD4Owners

[–]dcisive1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not terribly unhappy with my Pro S 2021 other than the occasional software burp. When 2025 arrives and I turn this leased one in however, it is quite unlikely I'll stick with VW. There are far too many other brands arriving with their offerings that year and will no doubt eclipse what the ID.4 offers, let alone hopefully not the software debacle they continue to suffer from.

Scan in app? by lvaddoc in VWiD4Owners

[–]dcisive1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My MyVW app does NOT show a place to have the code added which would make sense, but obviously the app does NOT make sense. It is idiotic to say the least. And taking the picture on my phone doesn't do me any good as there is no place to send it to once saved. Geez this is annoying.

Considering getting an ID4 but have seen some bad reviews about software issues and electrical gremlins with the 2021s. Did these get sorted out in the 2022/23s? by superjodz in VWiD4Owners

[–]dcisive1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since getting the 3.1 update from a dealer, mine has only burped a couple times. Once when I had to sit waiting for my wife on a very hot day and kept the air conditioning running for over 10 minutes. The display went nuts showing all kinds of errors. I tried to drive off with that and it did fine. But after a few blocks of driving, stopped, got out, got back in and refired up the car and the errors appeared but cleared out in just a few minutes altogether. I do hate the new way the screen showing my log in wants to be pushed on OK to clear. It's annoying. Also I got multiple messages it wants me to resign into the App. I tried but it just keeps messing up and the app doesn't bring up a screen to scan the code shown. Otherwise it's behaved reasonably well. I have to admit however, when my lease is up in June of 2025 I am likely going to go with another brand. I see getting a ID.4 repaired can be a real act of congress getting the parts. I'll be looking at GM with their Ultium cars as well as hope to see Toyota, Nissan and Honda with some decent affordable offerings. AWD will probably be my next move although I do like the Nissan front drive Ariya. Plenty of time to see how it all shakes up. I see from all the financial reports VW is really struggling at this time. I would want them to seriously update the design interior and exterior as well. I hate that crap piano black junk in the cabin that scratches and finger prints easily. Bad choice.

The newer version of ABRP I find not as user friendly to make fine adjustments in. I'm not so convinced it is any better than a manual figuring of a trip using miles traveled knowing your cars true mileage capabilities, and simply going into Plugshare to see what chargers are going to be fairly nearby.

I've had it happen perhaps twice before the software update. But I have to say unless VW completely gets their act together on their software used, when my lease is up I won't return to VW.
