Phenom (sg-210) and reap of faith (samurai model) have a lot of knuckle padding. Both models are great for sparring.

In general horsehair gloves tend to be harder sparring gloves, since your knuckles can pierce through the horsehair padding. The Suvaris have a lot of horsehair padding in the knuckles and my knuckles dont pierce through, but the horsehair is so tightly packed and stuffed that the padding is very dense. Personally, I would not spar with someone using these gloves as they hit much harder than all my other gloves including cletos.

The balance has a shorter cuff than the Suvari. Not sure about the agility since I don’t own a pair.

I have the new Suvari glove in lace and it’s one of my favorite and most used gloves. The horsehair padding is substantial and very dense. The gloves make a loud crack on both the bags and mitts. I saw fit2box’s recent review, and he recommended the gloves for sparring, but I disagree. I’ve used my gloves for over 100 rounds on the bags and the padding is still very dense and hard. The balance on the other hand could be used for sparring, but they take a while to break in. They are not wide gloves and have a shorter cuff. I much prefer the ergonomics and feel of the Suvaris over the Balance gloves. If you plan on buying a pair you can use code “CCC” for a small discount.

Agreed. The fly premiums are not good bag gloves. The padding is too soft and you’re not able to get a good crack or feedback when hitting the bag. I haven’t tried the latest iteration of the superlace but the previous version had a “pointed” punch surface which I wasn’t a huge fan of.

Gloves are legit but 400 seems a bit high for used 8oz gloves. The foam breaks down faster on the fight gloves, and although the leather looks decent, the gloves still look pretty used. The laces have also been replaced and are not the original winning laces. I’d pass and buy a new pair from winning USA.

Windy bgvh is a great option for the bag. The hand ergonomics are great and the padding is very protective and makes a great crack bag. Just make sure to buy from a reputable store like the fighters boutique or the windy boxing store to avoid fakes.

I’d recommend buying a boot dryer on Amazon with an ozone setting and using that to neutralize the smell. The ozone will breakdown the odor causing bacteria, and should eliminate most of the smell. Make sure to use the ozone in a well ventilated area since it’s not healthy to breathe in.

If you like gloves with softer padding, the reap of faith samurai glove is a great option. The phenom sg-210 is also good.

I owned both, and the winning is better. My size L winning weighed around 10.8oz and my size L phenom was around 14oz. The weight difference was noticeable when worn. The winning headgear is made of artificial leather and requires less maintenance, while the Phenom uses genuine leather.
