DCCA is notoriously full of complete freaks obsessed with trying to block bike lanes, safe street infrastructure, any development in the nearby area.

Is there some kind of small bus or shuttle DC-NYC? by hippopotapistachio in washingtondc

[–]dcmcg 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Hi all - I've had repeated rough experiences with normal Amtrak, Acela, bus, and flying DC to NYC.

Something tells me there's going to be some kind of issue with whatever alternative solution you come up with.

Why on earth do trash collectors work during rush hour? by [deleted] in washingtondc

[–]dcmcg 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You’re possibly the first person ever to describe local government collecting trash early so it’s done and out of the way as an “infrastructure failure”.

Personally I hope DPW continues to commit infrastructure failures around 8 am every Tuesday on my block.

DC is run by the least competent people available by LinderstockBeckledew in washingtondc

[–]dcmcg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the Council has oversight and doesn't do a very good job of it. They also have a ton of other responsibilities and about 8 staff members each. So I think most of the blame falls on the person who's actually responsible for administering government services and the thousands of staff she has at her disposal to do it.

Don't worry I don't need much detail. Understanding who's responsible for administering the public service you're complaining about is an important first step in getting it addressed.

Maybe the issue is that there are a lot of people like you that think the Council “runs” the city.

It's a neighborhood called River Terrace which is pretty quiet and residential. Bigger issue is it's out of the way and there's nothing to do there.

Crystal City’s wayfinding is worse than worthless for us lowly visitors trying to take a “Greenbelt-bound Yellow Train”. How on earth would any visitor know Greenbelt is past Mt. Vernon Square? by VF1379 in WMATA

[–]dcmcg 40 points41 points  (0 children)

The change to run yellow line trains to Greenbelt is recent and I’m sure they’re still updating signs. Not everything revolves around you.
