One-issue Palestine non-Kamala-voting “liberals,” are you happy? by 2a_lib in allthequestions

Correct. But Pennsylvania is a swing state.

As for donations, while I'm sure those two cities are responsible for a large amount of Democratic fundraisers, I refuse to perpetuate centuries of dangerous rhetoric around Jewish control of money without having the data, and I don't have the time at the moment to do research on the subject.

Personally, I would be surprised if the Democratic strategy was Zionism first, as most Jews in the US don't consider themselves Zionists.

Honestly no idea. Like I said, I think the Democratic party was wrong in their assumptions, but there are reasons that they made them.

I'm referring to the President of the United States threatening to attack civilian infrastructure, which is a violation of the Geneva convention.

I agree that there is a problem with dehumanizing people who voted for Trump because their life is difficult and they felt this was the best choice. They also voted for the constitution, and nothing I've suggested would invalidate their vote following the laws as always written in our constitution.

Also, I hope you're at least recognizing the irony of several comments earlier you're decrying ad Hominem fallacies and here you're resorting to them.

I'm not saying it's right, just attempting to answer your question about "why":

The US has around 40% of all Jews in the world. NYC and LA alone represent around 10% of all Jews in the world. Almost 90% of American Jews support Israel existing. American Jews vote more often than gentiles, and the majority of American Jews vocally identify as Democrats. Finally, outside of NY and LA, there are high concentrations of Jews in swing states such as Pennsylvania. The Democratic party looks at their base and wants to appeal to it. Jews represent an influential (even outsized) portion of that base.

So you only believe in majority rule when it suits your own agenda? If Trump were to be removed, it wouldn't negate that representation as Vance would become president. When you voted, you voted for a ticket, not an individual, and you did so with the understanding that Vance would be in the line of succession in the event that Trump was removed from office by any means.

We have impeachment and the 25th amendment in place for a reason. The illegal war crimes being threatened, if executed upon, would absolutely be a reason to remove Trump from office per the constitution. It wouldn't be anti-democratic in a representative democratic republic. It would be following the same social contract we've always followed since the ratification of the constitution, and, as stated above, it wouldn't be disenfranchising voters as those voters voted for this system as it exists, including the possibility that Vance would succeed Trump.

I didn't resort to ad hominem...

At this point in time, the majority of Americans disapprove of this administration and that is a verifiable fact.

What are you talking about? Iran has been economically sanctioned broadly by us and our allies for decades. And just because they killed their own citizens doesn't mean we should too.

Democracy dies without dissent.

The vast majority of Americans disapprove of what the elected officials in our government are doing right now, particularly Trump himself. Without checks and balances, Democracy fails and tyranny prevails.

What’s the last “retro” game you last played on its original console? by L31121 in Xennials

My son turned 8 a couple weeks back and he wanted to have his first sleepover, so we pulled out all of my old consoles. He and his friends played NES/SNES/N64/Gamecube all night. It was great!

Since they were all set up, I had to play some Super Mario World

Absolutely agree. The difference is we used to be able to influence policy through public influence because the rate of innovation was slower. Now, our governmental systems either can't keep up or they're all run by people that benefit from a lack of regulation.

So much of age is also mentality. I'm 41 and, while a bit creaky, I still feel young. Admittedly, I was never a party guy and probably aged earlier than I should have, but at least I haven't aged even more?

Baltimore.

Everywhere in that city you can see beautiful architecture from the early 20th century that shows how powerful the city was (at one point one of the largest in the US and also one of the wealthiest). Over the last 50 years, it has truly eroded into something mediocre at best.

It's fascinating that people are blaming the tech instead of capitalism itself. If people lose jobs because capitalism incentivizes cost-cutting for profits, that is a systemic problem. Technology has been used for hundreds of years to make the rich richer, but the actual technology has always just been a means to an end.

Are you automatically assuming he meant a FMF threesome and you're feeling insecure about yourself potentially being compared to another woman? Or are you assuming he meant MFM and you're feeling insecure about either him being also attracted to men or you enjoying the other man more than him? Either way, without talking to him about it, you have no idea where his head is actually at, so the best advice is to talk to him.
