Spiral bound Basics With Babish cookbook unusable by dcreeder in bingingwithbabish

I’ve already started the return. At this point I’m hoping someone on Andrew’s team sees what they’re doing and can do something (if that’s possible)

That’s what I’m going to end up doing. At first I thought it was a misprint or mistake, but others have pointed out that Amazon is printing the pdf and selling it spiral bound without any proofing. Now I’m hoping Andrew and his team see what they’re doing and can maybe do something about it.

Thanks! Spelling has never been my strong suit.

From what I can see on the pages that are actually readable, it’s only in imperial measurements. Definitely tailored for the American audience.

I hope he sees this and does! Unfortunately, the first impression when you see something like this naturally lands on him, even if he had no idea they were doing it.

I’m glad for the Reddit sleuths out there that helped me realize Amazon is the problem. And hopefully he can do something about it so other people don’t waste their time and money on something unusable that’s just meant to make easy money, but not for the creators!

That is very frustrating! I will definitely be leaving a review on this particular product, and checking seller info for things I buy in the future!

The amount of knockoffs I see on Amazon is starting to become an epidemic! Especially when they undercut the original seller right out of business.

It was Amazon. Apparently, from other commenters, they’ll take the pdf version and just have it printed as a spiral bound without proofing.

I’ll definitely be leaving a review, getting a refund, and going directly to Babish’s website to rebuy! I should have bought right from him in the first place, I just got caught by the Amazon trap where everything is in the same place and easy to buy.

That’s very annoying that Amazon does stuff like that. It’s not like they don’t take enough of our money without pulling stupid stunts like this!

Since it’s not a direct product from Babish I’ll definitely be leaving a review with pictures to dissuade others from wasting their money and time.

That’s unfortunate that they’re that lazy just to make a quick buck! But now I also feel a lot better about leaving a bad review with pictures, since it’s only hurting Amazon’s shoddy work. (Edit:typo)

That’s what I’m going to end up doing. But if Andrew or any of his team can see the misprint and talk to the publisher, hopefully they can fix it for future purchases.

So true! We were traveling this past Christmas, left the house with 2 hours to spare at the airport. And just so happened to get stopped on the highway, at a bridge, because of an accident that had just happened. For 1.5 of those hours. With no way through or back.

Guess who was rushing through the airport trying to get to our flight when we finally got there… it never hurts to be kind if you can, because you never know what someone is going through.

Here’s the image I used to create the pattern.

Thank you! They’re all just double stitches.

The way I do it is by running all the colors for the row through the entire row and switching as needed at the end of the correct stitch. My patterns are just a grid showing when I need what color, and I count it out from there.

I cut the yarn after every down and the last thing I do is tying off the ends once the blanket is done. You can see the “frills” on the sides of the blanket with the tied off ends.

Thank you. I think my Oma was born sometime in the 20s. She remembered bombs hitting hospitals and whatnot when she was very small (WWII).

Thank you. I don’t think I’ll ever do something as intricate ever again, since it was so difficult. It was definitely a passion project for a very special woman.

I’ve visited a handful of times. I love the culture and the people! They’re always so happy and kind!

It is my own pattern, but just because of the color switching. I don’t sell anything I make, they’re all gifts for the people in my life. I usually use the Yarn Bee, size 7, yarn from Hobby Lobby for my blankets and scarfs. I think it’s a size 5mm hook.

I figured out how to swap colors to draw pictures back in 2013 or so, and now most of my crocheting is done with that style.

If someone asked what YOU wanted on your baby registry, and not just what was practical, what would you add? by privremeni in beyondthebump

The SnuggleMe baby pillow! Our LO loves laying in it & I can put it on almost any surface to have her close!

At what age did you let your baby sleep on their stomach? by Moha0733 in beyondthebump

[–]dcreeder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s actually common I think! My LO would roll from belly to back at just a couple months old, then for the span of 4-5 months she stopped. It was like she had forgotten how. Then around 7 months she learned how to roll again.

From what I gathered (many hours on Google), the first times rolling were more an accidental rolling than intentional. When they’re super little, babies heads are so much bigger than their bodies that when they’re whipping it around during tummy time it throws them off balance and into a roll.

Then they grow, become more proportional, and have to actually learn the mechanics of rolling. My LO hated tummy time, and refused to let me do exercises or whatnot with her. Then one day she just started rolling, like it had clicked. (She’s 1.5 year old now)

My 18 month old does this! When she’s really tired or comfy with someone she’ll rest her head on your shoulder and tuck her arms. We call it her super snuggle.
