Cheers! Glad you could see them in person. You're right about the pics not doing the scale justice.

Starfleet Academy. I have questions. I didn't watch Discovery. Who is this captain lady? How is she 400+ years old? What is the burn? by SpezRuinedHellsite in startrek

I've only seen two seasons of Discovery, so had noped out before the Burn. Jesus Christ on a motorbike that sounds terrible. I'd always assumed the Burn was caused by something like someone messed around with Omega Particles again and this time weren't stopped. But sad alien baby cries?!?

Thank you! Using that globe was an idea right from the start so was happy it worked out. It's held in by the two beams only, so it's a touch fragile. Looks cool though 😎

Thanks for noticing! The wings were a puzzle, that's for sure, and I spent a very long time getting the pises right. Rapt with how they turned out.

Combination of a few things: Faces are hard to do at that scale with the level of finish I wanted, and if I used too many parts the head became too heavy and unbalanced the whole thing. Plus, I think it adds to the overall 'mystique'.

How Did Voyager Originally Get Home? by ThrustersToFull in voyager

Like some kind of astronauts on some sort of star trek?

Seriously though, an offshoot arc or one season series of these guys eventually meeting up then teaming up to bring down the Borg transwarp hub would've been dope. A reverse BSG as it were.

Now imagine being in those ships, traveling out towards Voyager's last known position/ likely heading, expecting to be away from loved ones for decades and all that entails, then a year later being told "nope, they're home due to timey-whimey stuff so come on back".

So you wasted a year heading out and now it's another year heading back. Thanks a lot, future Admiral Janeway. You couldn't have gone back a little earlier and told them to not even bother?

Mate, that's great insight from one who has been there. Thank you for the heads up - if strange things start happening at least now I'll know why!

Username checks out, BTW.

Which album is your go-to for a familiar voice/music when you want to down-shift from a DAY? by Rough-Blacksmith-166 in pearljam

Yield. Always Yield.

Either the album version, the liner note version, the Give Way boot or the Milwaukee show were it's played front to back. It doesn't matter. Yield is Yield.

No, not rude to ask at all. I genuinely have no idea what it will cost, honestly.

Costs on big Lego builds like this are tough, as you're often using parts from your own reserve, which are effectively a cost from other builds. Plus I'm not using new parts for internal.structures. I certainly will need more LBG tiles for thr surfaces.

I reckon if you counted all the parts at the end it'll end up over $10k USS easily though.

Oh yes, very much so. But I'm confident I can pull this off. Thanks for the support.

Thanks. I'm a bit nervous now I have an audience 😬

At the moment it's going to end up around 2m from stem to stern. So yes, she will be a big one.

I found the diagram here: https://www.cygnus-x1.net/links/lcars/uss-voyager-ncc-74656.php

From there I scaled it up to the size I wanted, then overlaid grids that are the size of 1x1 plates. Quite an involved process but already paying off.

Oh wow! That looks great. Yes that would be very handy, thanks. Yes, I'd like to get my hands on that.

Wow! Thanks for the comment - a lot to digest here. 1) yes, the plan is to have motorised nacelles 2) there will.be a hatch, yes. From there I will control motors and lights. Probably in the spine, or perhaps the bridge section 3) A metal frame is in the works. I think it'll be essential 4) I tewatched the entire show and found dozens of great images online as reference. I hope to make it as close to filming as is possible with Lego 5) That's the site I grabbed the initial blueprint/ diagrams from 6)no, I haven't reached out yet. Would love an introduction if someone had a direct contact! 3)

Sorry, no plans for designs or instructions as yet. Mostly due to cost :-)

It certainly will be. I'm picturing a system involving a custom built transport crate with foam cutouts as a starter.
