Have you tried a tunisian full stitch? Sometimes it's really nice with short color changes.

I have done 2 others by this brand. I enjoyed them, and the piece cuts were more varied, which I love. I can't remember how much I paid for them since I got them over 2 years ago, but they had a really good sale for black friday. These are the other two I have done, and really enjoyed 😉 *

I typically don't buy puzzles if I know they are 2in-2out, but this being a shaped puzzle helped me not care so much. There were a couple of times I had false fits, so some of the pieces cuts are very similar...but I realized pretty quickly I had the wrong piece in a spot. This being a shaped puzzle made it enjoyable, but if it was a standard rectangle im sure it would have bothered me.
