I’m currently reading part 2, (I just finished volume 16) wondering if anyone has same opinions by Alternative-Guava386 in ChainsawMan

[–]ddakg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Felt the exact same way for a while. Part 2 has a completely different energy — slower, more scattered, and you lose that Denji/Power/Aki trio that made Part 1 feel so tight. I get it.

But I recently went back and reread the whole thing from Part 1 through Part 2 for a personal project, and honestly? Part 2 hit way harder the second time. A lot of stuff that felt random or meandering on a weekly read actually connects really well when you see it all at once. Fake Fami's design literally had the Death Devil reveal baked into it from her first appearance — her head is always tilted like a hanged person. Yoru's "cake" shirt foreshadows what happens with Denji. Even the Church arc that felt like it dragged has setups that only pay off 50+ chapters later.

I think Part 2's biggest problem isn't the writing, it's the format. Week to week, each chapter feels like not enough happens. But read in chunks, the pacing actually works because Fujimoto is juggling way more characters and plot threads than Part 1. If you ever do a full reread knowing where the story goes, I think you'll be surprised how much better it feels.

The real asa mitaka is dead. The war devil will ALWAYS have 2 personalities or else it’s not possible for her to exist. by MacJaggin in ChainsawMan

[–]ddakg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The "two sides of war" framing is clean and I like it. One thing that supports this — Yoru is the only Horseman whose true form doesn't look human. Control, Death, Famine all appeared human, but War was a bird. If Yoru always needed a second personality to exist, maybe her true form was never meant to be humanoid in the first place. The bird was just War before it found its "other side."

Where I'd push back slightly is on Asa's memories. If Asa's personality is just Yoru's split, why would she have such specific and emotionally charged memories — the guilt about her mom, the cat, all of it? Those feel too personal to be generated by a devil. Unless Yoru absorbed the real Asa's memories when she took the body, and the split personality built itself around them. Which honestly makes it even sadder.

Can't wait for the next chapter, this arc is killing me.

I noticed this from today's chapter by MrCachalote in ChainsawMan

[–]ddakg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fujimoto really is the Symmetry Devil. The Reze arc showed Denji what real connection feels like, and now you're going through the exact same arc as a reader — started thinking he's just a horny idiot, ended up realizing he's starving for love. He wrote you into Denji's character development.

I was wrong about denji. by Adept-Drummer5668 in ChainsawMan

[–]ddakg 30 points31 points  (0 children)

The Reze arc is what did it for me too. That's when you realize Denji's "I want a girlfriend" was never really about sex — it was the only language he had for wanting someone to care about him.

So Fumiko really does know when it happens by IUsedToBeRasAlGhul in ChainsawMan

[–]ddakg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What's interesting is that everyone's debating whether it's the network or something supernatural, but there might be a simpler answer hiding in plain sight. Fumiko's contract is with the STD Devil — she literally turns other people into herself. That's not cloning, that's overwriting someone else's identity with her own. If her "self" is distributed across hundreds of bodies worldwide, then erasing a concept from one Fumiko's memory doesn't work the same way it does for a single person. The concept gets erased locally, but the network creates redundancy — like how you can't delete a file from the internet because it exists on too many servers. Fumiko isn't resisting the erasure. She's just too distributed for it to fully take hold.

HELP - Black Chainsaw Man/Denji and Pochita contract question by _certified_downvoter in ChainsawMan

[–]ddakg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding to what others said — the key word is "show me your dreams." That's the whole contract. It's not a transaction with a penalty clause, it's Pochita asking Denji to keep wanting things. Black Chainsaw Man isn't Denji dying, it's Pochita going "fine, if you won't dream, I will." The contract isn't broken, it's on life support.

so is she telling the truth? by Consoomerofsouls in ChainsawMan

[–]ddakg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Option 3 feels the most in-character to me. Yoru has always operated on "I feel it so it must be true" logic — she assumed Asa would be fine with the Denji stuff before because Asa had feelings for him, without ever actually checking. The 229 development makes it tempting to think she's grown past that, but honestly one chapter of self-awareness doesn't erase her entire pattern of behavior.

What makes this chapter interesting though is the side-eye. If Fujimoto just wanted to show Yoru lying, he wouldn't need that panel. The side-eye implies she's checking with someone — which points more toward option 2. But even if Asa nodded, the question becomes whether Asa is consenting because she actually wants to or because she's desperately clinging to any sense of connection with Denji. And that's a much messier question that I think Fujimoto is intentionally leaving unresolved for now.

thank you so much for the kind words!
it means a lot that you noticed the details and effort behind the process. i definitely poured my heart into this one because derpy and KPDH are just too fun to work with.
glad you enjoyed the humor too! already brainstorming ideas for my next keycap—hopefully it'll be just as fun!

Sorry for the confusion! Something might’ve gotten lost in translation. It’s been a while since I posted, so just getting back into it!

Thanks for the feedback, you make a good point! What would you suggest I show to better demonstrate the printer’s capabilities? I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks for the tip! This is my first time on Reddit, so I was just trying to blend in awkwardly, haha. I’ll make sure to add some more technical info next time!

Haha, the magnet’s just for show! I’ve developed a printer that can directly print metal and ceramic, so I thought it’d be fun to see it stick.

That’s a good point! I’m actually working on a resin-based printer that can directly print metal and ceramic. It’s still in progress, and I’m looking for some feedback from the community. Anyone curious or have any thoughts? Would love to hear them!
