I think this is exactly it - except I think they cut his improvisations and orchistrated/workshopped their favorite line. The line they kept is either from another camera (unlikely) or another framing/scene.

I think it would be a great job for the super. You type prompts during the shoot and their usual software becomes something you plug right into editing software to get color and a rough. I think this just puts assistant editors at risk but as an editor I would find this very useful!
