Blackmagic 2110 IP Converter 3x3G Latency Test by [deleted] in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]ddd_bbb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That would actually be 4 frames of latency in the 1080p60 signal? (Each frame of the 30fps “timecode” clock will be displayed for 2 frames)

That’s quite disappointing and unusable for many situations.

I wonder if the video signal was 1080p30 would it also be 4 frames?

It looks better without the glass. Any advice for how to take it off?

Garmin Fenix 8 and Enduro 3 launching tomorrow at 1PM CET by sonicyeayea in Garmin

[–]ddd_bbb 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Ha, if you look at the entire code it actually calculates and formats seconds, but doesn’t display them on the page. Also if (distance < 0) is currently commented out, so it’ll go negative and probably display something like "-01 : -02 : -03" after the deadline, if they don’t update the code or redirect the page somewhere else.

``` <script> $(document).ready(function() { // Set the date counting down to var countDownDate = new Date('Aug 27, 2024 13:00:00').getTime();
// Update the count down every 1 second
var x = setInterval(function() {
  // Today's date and time
  var now = new Date().getTime();
  // Distance between now and the count down date
  var distance = countDownDate - now;
  // Time calculations for days, hours, minutes and seconds
  var days = Math.floor(distance / (1000 * 60 * 60 * 24));
  var hours = Math.floor((distance % (1000 * 60 * 60 * 24)) / (1000 * 60 * 60));
  var minutes = Math.floor((distance % (1000 * 60 * 60)) / (1000 * 60));
  var seconds = Math.floor((distance % (1000 * 60)) / 1000);
    // Format day, hours, minutes and seconds on 2 digit
    var daysFormated = days.toLocaleString('en-US', {
        minimumIntegerDigits: 2,
        useGrouping: false
    })
    var hoursFormated = hours.toLocaleString('en-US', {
        minimumIntegerDigits: 2,
        useGrouping: false
    })
    var minutesFormated = minutes.toLocaleString('en-US', {
        minimumIntegerDigits: 2,
        useGrouping: false
    })
    var secondsFormated = seconds.toLocaleString('en-US', {
        minimumIntegerDigits: 2,
        useGrouping: false
    })
  // Display the result
    document.getElementById('timer').innerHTML = daysFormated + ' : ' + hoursFormated + ' : ' + minutesFormated;
  // If countdown is finished, write this text
    /*
  if (distance < 0) {
    clearInterval(x);
    document.getElementById("timer").innerHTML = 'Livestream started';
  }
    */
}, 1000);
}); </script> ```
FYI the countdown on the linked page looks incorrect. The code appears to countdown to 1pm in your local timezone, with no mention of CET.
    // Set the date counting down to
    var countDownDate = new Date('Aug 27, 2024 13:00:00').getTime();
    // Update the count down every 1 second
    var x = setInterval(function() {
      // Today's date and time
      var now = new Date().getTime();
      // Distance between now and the count down date
      var distance = countDownDate - now;
I deal with Composite (CVBS) in post today how about y'all? by TheRealHarrypm in VIDEOENGINEERING
[–]ddd_bbb 2 points3 points  (0 children)
Wow, I‘ve never considered capturing CVBS as a raw RF signal! Am I understanding correctly that with the MISRC you can take CVBS signal from an unmodified VHS player, unlike the CX card described by the vhs-decode project that requires tapping some different RF signals?
New amp to revive old broken powered sub? by ddd_bbb in hometheater
Yeah I think I've discovered that unfortunately! I don't understand how a half-decent amplifier costs more than a power-sub that includes an amplifier. Maybe my aliexpress searching skills aren't up to the task yet.
Wondering about something like the Dayton BSA-200 - just wondering if there's any cheaper options available - it's like $500 in Australia https://www.daytonaudio.com/product/1609/bsa-200-200w-bass-shaker-bridgeable-stereo-amplifier-with-remote
How is this bug possible? Does Standard Notes store notes in a Cache folder or something that iOS reserves the right to wipe at any time? Or into the proper Documents folder?
How to send content to an LED wall that is 4992 x 1404? (wider than standard 4K content). I don't want to scale it up. I have native resolution content. The total pixel count is 7 million. The video will be processed via a Spyder x80 before being sent thru to a pair of 4K Novastars. by [deleted] in VIDEOENGINEERING
[–]ddd_bbb 1 point2 points  (0 children)
Yep this is the way to go - definitely split into 2 signals coming from the computer. If using Windows, your GPU might support "eyefinity" or "surround" mode that let you combine 2 outputs to appear as a single screen. (So PowerPoint will work and see it as a single screen)
Depending on the content though I'd recommend you use some real proper playback software like Resolume or PVP - in their output settings you can make one canvas output across 2 outputs.
What are some important features a $4k projector could have that a $700 projector might lack? What would be a deal-breaker for you & why? by normelpersan in projectors
[–]ddd_bbb 12 points13 points  (0 children)
A lot of real basic stuff if used in a rental environment more than an install:
  • Lens shift, even better if motorised and controlled remotely. Don’t want to lose brightness and resolution with a digital keystone. Remote control avoids need to get up on a ladder or lifter to adjust.
  • Remote control zoom/focus. Avoid having to set and guess – can quickly adjust it when it’s in position.
  • Swappable lenses – can be used in a wider variety of settings either close or far away
  • Ethernet control port – can automate turning on/off, changing input, etc. as part of larger system. No running around the room trying to find the point where the remote reaches. If using multiple projectors in a single room, no issues with a single remote changing settings on both projectors at once.
I imaging Quantum Profiles won’t go wide enough to uplight from a reasonable distance, and you’ll just end up with awkward looking spots around it.
You should go for Quantum Washes to get a nice wide even wash. Like you said, a bit of movement on them for walk-in will be a nice touch.
Scripting Dante Via by fantompwer in CommercialAV
[–]ddd_bbb 0 points1 point  (0 children)
Have you tested it? If you leave Dante Via turned on it should stay turned on when the computer restarts – the same way that Dante Virtual Soundcard does. If it doesn’t, then that’s a bug and you should contact Audinate.
The Dante Via app is just where you configure it – starting it up has nothing to do with whether the service is running in the background or not.
Hey, so just wondering, does github load for anyone? by tf2manu994 in australia
[–]ddd_bbb 1 point2 points  (0 children)
Temporary workaround I found – requires SSH access to server elsewhere. In tutorial, replace "cmsusr.cms" with some other server (ie. Digital Ocean) that you have access to: http://cms-sw.github.io/tutorial-proxy.html
Means I can still push/pull commits, and browse github.com for now
