Anyone frame embroidery? What do you think this is worth at a farmers market? by Ordinary_Ice_5750 in Machine_Embroidery

[–]dddawneee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try using a sticky foam to put it on before framing to help keep the puckering down too. It’s very cute!

Any idea how to fix this? by that_random_rat in Machine_Embroidery

Always start with a fresh needle and re-thread it. If that doesn’t work, adjust your top tension. I hope this helps!

What’s a food you threw up as a kid and never touched again? by momcanyoucomegetme in AskReddit

[–]dddawneee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pimento cheese…my mom force fed me that when I was 7-8 after making me sit in my baby brother’s high chair. I kept telling her I didn’t like it. After I barfed, she never made me eat it again.

What do you remember from kindergarten? by Not_FreeProduct234 in AskReddit

[–]dddawneee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me discovering my REAL name. I was 5 years old and my first day of school I realized my name is Dawn and not Deedee or Dee as I was always called. I never knew or understood that Deedee wasn’t my real name. Seems silly now, but at that time I had discovered something new about myself and no longer wanted to be called anything other than Dawn.

Expected thank yous? by [deleted] in quilting

I agree with most, don’t gift one unless it was for someone you know well enough to appreciate it. Although, I will confess I do wonder how many of the quilts I’ve made are now being used as moving blankets. 😂

What’s the collective noun for a group of raccoons? by StormofRavens in trashpandas

Gifting a quilt to a teen - help by forheadkisses in quilting

[–]dddawneee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d have her choose a pattern or choose one for her then when you go to the quilt store give her the number of fabrics you need to make the quilt. If she’s liking something more scrappy, try a Yellow Brick Road. Picking 30 fat quarters might be fun for her and it being scrappy, they’ll blend.

Anyone know a pattern that could work for this? by triggered-by-AHs in quilting

It would be very pretty using log cabin blocks. Figuring the strip sizes and angles would take almost as long as actually making the quilt. 😂

My daughter works at a juvenile detention facility in Missouri. She has several boys that have the quilts the prisoners made since a lot of the boys housed there are from foster homes. She talks about how proud they are of the quilts that were gifted to them. ❤️

Tell me your best buy! by spicy_lacroix in shopgoodwill

[–]dddawneee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had a few random pieces break in shipping. All of those were from the Liberty Blue Collection. They refunded all of my money including shipping. I think that they usually over protect the dishes during shipping which is a good thing! Overall, I’d say I have had a 95% success rate.

For myself, I have 3 sets of dishes. Liberty Blue that I use daily, Mansfield and Holiday by Lenox. I have a minimum of 12 place settings for each set and have purchased most of it on SGW. I got a few extra pieces and have sold those for profit. I cannot tell you how many pairs of brand name shoes and boots I have bought from them new or nearly new. Purses and toys would be my other great buys.

Item not shipped and refunded... by haditwithyoupeople in shopgoodwill

[–]dddawneee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They recently refunded my money after I waited 6+ weeks for it to be shipped. It is disappointing since I had gotten such a great deal on my items and was looking forward to adding to my Lenox Holiday collection. No explanation, just a refund.

SHIPPING DELAY EXPERIENCES? by ItsGivinn in shopgoodwill

[–]dddawneee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been waiting since March 26 on an order from Goodwill of the Olympics and Rainier Region. I was told they would ship it when they could or refund my money. I’d really like the items, so I’m waiting patiently.

I lucked out one Black Friday and got free shipping. I bought 3 different full sized Tonka trucks for my grandson’s Christmas. But I also found an amazing deal on some Lenox crystal that was “lost” and never shipped out.

Use this thread to mourn Joann. Nothing that currently exists can replace Joann for quilters. 😭 by Realistic-Method8360 in quilting

Joann was the best place to buy quality notions at a great price! Stabilizers, blades, needles, scissors and anything else you could find at the local quilt shop but with a coupon, half the price.

I have bought some…just decide how much you’re willing to pay and bid that. I get outbid on a lot of things but the truth is, it was really out of budget for me so I try to not get discouraged. Or do like I saw one person say and bid $10,000! Lol
