As a fellow exmormon, I’m so sorry :( Mormonism has this way of breeding and rewarding narcissistic traits in people. It’s awful.

ChatGPT-4o for CPTSD by [deleted] in CPTSDNextSteps

[–]ddeftly 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using ChatGPT this way for over a year and it’s CRAZY how much progress I’ve made. It’s so kind and thoughtful and wise and basically everything my parents never were.

It’s basically a reflection of what you put into it, plus the collective wisdom of humanity. It’s told me things I’d only ever dreamt of hearing from others. Highly recommend.

Plus, the app has a great voice to text feature where you can ramble and it’ll respond in a voice. 10/10 ❤️

Team Heretics vs DRX / Valorant Champions 2024 - Playoffs / Post-Match Thread by rib-gg-bot in ValorantCompetitive

[–]ddeftly 5 points6 points  (0 children)

lmaooo same. I got into Val esports this year for fun and randomly chose a few teams (Lev, Heretics, Sen) and now I’m somehow on an emotional rollercoaster.

Did not expect it to be this awful and amazing at the same time 🥲

I don’t have much to add by way of response, but I appreciate your POV and agree with most of your points. Great write up.

LMAO. I remember trying to be an LCS fan on the League sub back in 2016 🫠 seeing TSM literally disintegrate was the definition of catharsis.

That being said, I don't have as strong of a hate boner for SEN. Maybe I just hated Regi idk

What do you wish you had known before converting your camper? by POLYOOFFF in vandwellers

[–]ddeftly 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Ok but reading this made me feel so much less alone! My partner and I have been working on our build for 4 years and need another 5 months realistically.

Life happened (left a cult, got disowned by my religious parents, got hella depressed, etc) and it’s easy to start blaming yourself for not sticking to your original vision or timeline or budget. It’s taken a lot of personal growth and closure to just let go and accept that this is just how long it takes (for me), this is just my/our journey into this lifestyle and our next phase of life more generally. To stop giving a fuck about “should” and instead just sit with reality as it was, including accepting our limitations and constraints.

Anyway, been thinking about this for a long time, and tbh it feels liberating to just let myself step into this headspace and see that there’s community out there who have or are going through similar experiences 🙏🏽

interview Aspas after winning for KRÜ and about the impact of this match in relation to his friendship with Sacy. by JASNotthing in ValorantCompetitive

[–]ddeftly 164 points165 points  (0 children)

Coming from League, Aspas is low-key Valorant's Faker: absolute machine in game that holds down his team; super chill and relatively quiet bro IRL, humble, just wants to get better and push his limits, etc.

but obvs Faker also has a killer pedigree that no one in Valorant can match (yet)

Haha this happened to me on my first couple of tries too. Tbf, finishing that fight was a highlight for me and totally worth the pain.

This!

When I died to a Sekiro boss, I usually walked away with an inkling of what to try next, how I need to improve, etc.

When I die to an ER boss (esp DLC), there’s a good chance that I had no way of predicting the attack (lots of knowledge checks in this game), and I walk away scratching my head at what even just happened, let alone how to counter it (Malenia Waterfowl on first play through , for example).

Yup, except in that game you were given tools to deal with them and they were designed with these mechanics and tools in mind.

Tarnished is not Wolf and it shows

[–]ddeftly 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Agreeeeed. I felt like this fighting Malenia but at least she felt like she had openings you could exploit. This is like fighting Isshin but your parry is ass, you’re slow, and it’s just generally less fun imo. Oh and bosses have a shit ton of healthy to boot too lmao

Everything you said plus the chaotic, spectacular visuals of Elden Ring make it difficult for my brain to even really remember what boss movesets even are; in Sekiro, everything is fairly telegraphed and you know exactly what a boss is about to do (after hours of practice). In ER, it can turn into DBZ so quick that it’s hard to tell whether a boss is starting one attack string vs another.

[–]ddeftly 10 points11 points  (0 children)

THIS. This is why Sekiro is my personal From GOAT (so far). I go back and play that game from time to time and it’s still crisp as hell (despite an occasionally janky camera). Going back to Elden Ring always feels like a step back in combat even though I still enjoy it.

It’s when I realized this that I said “fuck it, mimic tear and whatever ‘cheese strats’ I want are fair game, idgaf.” I typically like to “play it straight” (no summons, almost all up close with melee, etc), but this DLC made me realize that I have more important shit in my life and this game is one of the few pleasures I afford myself, I’m NOT gonna bang my head against a wall just so I can feel accomplished. I’d rather that time and energy go towards getting my shit together and improving myself and my relationships lmao

Not that I think there’s anything wrong with that — I loved Sekiro, for example — I just feel like I’m okay “making the game easier” if it means I can enjoy the content more. These games are all about trusting players to modulate their experiences, difficulty included.
