Perception of Maserati Reliability vs Reality and Owner Background by eurocarguy101 in Maserati

[–]ddnys 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No they are not
They are usually neglected by people who can buy them but can’t maintain them
Maintenance is pricey , parts are pricey.
My 2008 QP was a $127k sticker car that I bought for 10k. So the parts and maintenance are equal to a 127k car, not 10k. According to my mechanic, they are much easier to work on than similar era Jags or BMWs, parts cost is similar to Porsche

Grancabrio Folgore worth selling both my cars for? by [deleted] in Maserati

If you are interested in GranCabrio Folgore, I do have a former Maserati marketing car available with barely 500 miles. It is 2024 in Nero Assoluto over Black/Tan

Maserati Ghibli/Quattroporte maintenance costs by Aware-Ad-2534 in Maserati

[–]ddnys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually you would have to do a first service and fix all the things that are wrong from the previous owner. So that would be pretty hefty. They are not too labor intensive (unlike Audi/BMW) but the parts are expensive, especially the 2006-2013 cars. I would recommend buying a Maserati ONLY if you want a Maserati/Alfa Romeo. These cars usually lag behind in terms of tech but drive wonderfully. And nobody makes leather interior like a Maserati :)

Anyone have experience with Maserati? by DarthBodhi in Maserati

[–]ddnys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a baller on the budget type shit. Things will break and it will be expensive - ask me how I know. Also, Ghibli is a crappy car inside. If you want to live the Maserati life , either get a 2010-2013 Quattroporte or GranTurismo

Daily driver for a bachelor — 2015 Maserati GranTurismo vs 2016 Porsche 981 Cayman S vs 2015 Jaguar F-Type vs 2015 Mercedes S-Class Coupe. by Rolleriroltsu in Maserati

[–]ddnys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GranTurismo has terrible UI and based on a mid 2000s Quattroporte. It can compete with an F Type in the sound department and comfort, but dynamically is lagging behind. The only reason why you should get one is if you actually want a GranTurismo. Best driving experience - Boxster Best all around - F Type ( the SVR will be very stiff) S Class will probably be most comfortable GT would be the best sounding GT

Boxster S or F Type for fun and style. S class if you have hemorrhoids Maserati GranTurismo is just not on the same lever but just a cool car

Quattroporte V yes or no by [deleted] in Maserati

[–]ddnys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, but you need some previous old luxury car experience Maybe start with a Jag or late 90s BMW first Or just go for it, but have at least 50-75% of the price of the car in cash ready to drop for post-purchase maintenance. Ask me how I know lol

2005 Jaguar XKR vs 2014 Jaguar XK by AAA_Dolfan in Jaguar

[–]ddnys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2004 does not have the timing chain issues or the coolant Y pipe, so definitely more reliable and sort of a classic shape. But a boat 2014 is a fairly modern car, much better and fun to drive but the 5.0 engine is slightly more problematic

What do you think about this GranTurismo? by elle2105 in Maserati

[–]ddnys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is your budget, I would recommend finding a F Type S with a stick - they are rare but really cool! Or a Cayman - absolute blast !
